Taxed the Falco (£64.35) and the LC (£0.00). Miserable weather in Sheffield, so the LC stays in the shed. Next week I'll be in France and the Falco will get woken up from its slumbers...

That hand on Charlie's shoulder looks strangely diembodied...

Finished off fitting my new tail tidy. Re-fitted my brake lever guard so that it no longer fouls the throttle.

Had a trip down to Brighton to see my middle one (he's the one with the (new) questionable tache and non-OEM hair
) and his OH , lovely chilled day, and thankfully the rain stayed away for most of it- we took Barnaby the dog, he enjoyed himself too- nearly everyone down there seems to have a dog

That's a cosy place. I hope Muz isn't making wood dust in there.Sunny wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 7:19 pm Finished off fitting my new tail tidy. Re-fitted my brake lever guard so that it no longer fouls the throttle.

Boxed in a length of ventilation pipe and tidied the shed a bit.

It is nice though. We bought one of those kits and built it (not including the base and the roof panels), in two days a couple of years ago - we were dead impressed with the quality/ease of two people installing it
(Muz was putting the last bolt covers on the roof when he fell off and broke his back

Re: What have you done today thread?
At some point my daughter decided to paint a striking pattern in contrasting colours on her bedroom wall, think of dazzle camouflage on ships. Now she's left I'm redecorating but don't fancy putting ten coats of paint on and still having the pattern showing through.
So today I have been sanding the wall, the paint the decorators used when we moved in wipes off with a cloth but not this stuff, it's the cockroach of the paint world and heavily resistant to 80 grit sandpaper.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today's plans:
Oil/filter change on the ST
Trip to Lowes to pick up four 8ft 2x12's which will be used to construct a pair of ramps for the F350. I have plastic ramps that work just fine for the ShitBox Honda & the ST... but I'm not so sure about putting the F350 on them... altho with that said, If I was laying under the F350 & the plastic ramps failed there's enough ground clearance to prevent me getting squished.

First commute on the bike of the year, greasy roads and I suspect some dodgy tyre pressures did not make for a pleasant experience

Re: What have you done today thread?
Joined the pool for a month like I've done every year for last 25.
Usually manage about 400m first visit.
Today did first 600m non stop then up to 1,000m total in 2 more bursts.
No achey bits at all

Walked round Henley on Thames which was quite nice. The ladies declared it was a posh area and quality bounty would be found in the charity shops! Us blokes went to the pub where we were relieved of far too much money for a few drinks. I’m now sitting under my awning refusing to go in but is pissing down and getting cold and damp, worse still my wine is getting cold!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent the morning ripping out the expensive rubber tiles from the on-suite , to fix the leak that there seemed to be leaving a damp patch in the front wall just beneath.
Then ripped out the plywood - then flatened the nails, and lifted the boards to have a good look. Unfortunately (fortunately), it was all bone dry, no leak whatsoever.
This afternoon was buying some ply, and fitting it to the really crap floorboard and trying to work out what flooring to apply.
Back to the drawing board on why there is damp on the wall!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today I got new hearing aids. The old man bought a new pair last November, when he was taken into hospital the first thing they did was an MRI, a nurse took his hearing aids out and lost them. The HSE (Irish health service) agreed to pay for replacements but as he's now gone I got them instead. I paid an extra €1100 to upgrade but that got me a €4k pair.
