It was about £17.50 a gallon last time I looked....most garden machinery dealers have it. Can't remember the trade name though.

Aspen. Dear stuff.
I use Sta-Bil in the H1.
Yes, I use Sta-bil or equivalent when leaving the other bikes for an extended period of time (like over winter in the south of France), but I really don't want any ethanol (whether stabilised or not) in the Ducati fuel tank after the faff of removing the rubbery gunge from the inside of the tank. Plus I don't really trust it in the internals of the fuel pump, so it has to be certified E0.

I don't think there is anywhere over here that sells zero ethanol from the pump. It's even getting harder to get E5. The shape of things to come,I fear.
You won't buy E0 from a petrol service station forecourt, but you can buy the stuff in 5 and 10 litre drums from places that sell and service lawnmowers etc. There's a place only a mile or so away from me in Sheffield, apparently. But it's bloody expensive - over £40 for a 10 litre drum...

Too salty for me. Shell E5 Super used to be ethanol free, despite the E5 handle, but we don't have Shell over here now anyway.
Yes, Esso Premium 99 used to be ethanol-free, but not any more. I'd only be using the pricey E0 stuff just to get the engine running and have a couple of last rides out before selling it. I'm too frit to do any more track days on it and it's taking up space and never getting used.

I would miss it, though.
I hate selling a bike. There are still times when I bitterly regret selling the 10R,even though I could only ride it one way and knew it needed to go. I wish I had the space to keep loads of bikes, but it's probably just as well I don't. Saves me from myself.
Yeah, I find it very hard to let go of bikes. I've had some amazing times on the 888, done loads of track days on it in the '90s, but for most of the last 20 years it's hardly turned a wheel and hasn't been road registered since the late '90s. It's only sentiment that's keeping it sitting in the corner.
Back to the OP rather than fuel the keyless start playing up seems to be something a few have had issues with. Almost all have been remedied with a change of fob battery and only using a brand new bought one ( most have spares kicking about for ages so replacementbattery could be shit )
I know one Multi owner who had to get a new fob but going full ECU replacement isn’t something I have seen on the owners pages
TBH they are not very technical people - there seem to be very few people that get into the nuts and bolts of stuff. I also guess that as I have the bike booked in for a service , then it can be look at then ( so immediately falling into what I said above).
I tried a brand new battery - but it was one that was in a packet and maybe a year old , so I have ordered some new ones to try.

The Multi owners must be different as there are loads who do full services and strip downs on the FB owners page I follow including Funners from the dim and distant pst on VD
Well, bugger me.
Despite fitting a brand new Duracell battery the other day to the fob, it didn't work.
Ordered 10 new ones off Amazon - but Energizer, not Duracell. Popped one in just to double check that it is the fob is FUBARed - and it worked ...
So there is a duff batch of 2032 batteries out there!
My Mums old Citroen Xsara lost all its leccy key operation. She got new batteries from amazon and I tried all manner of online fixes etc but to no avail. She took it into Citroens who were going to charge her £240 for a unit reset and reprogram. She actually got charged about £30 as a new fob battery fixed it. The had to charge her some labour and they did a diagnostic scan. They told her it wasn't uncommon for them to find faulty new batteries, particularly from online purchases.
