That sounds yuck. Did it taste of chicken?Noggin wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 2:50 pmI 'sieved' a bumble bee onceFelix wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 1:14 pm I was riding with the visor open when a bee got me and wedged between almost the ear hole and the helmet. Bee was fine just stuck and buzzing away like mad. I was in quite fast flowing traffic so could not just stop. Had this hitch hiking buzzing bastard for a minute or two. When i took the helmet off it flew away back in the direction i had came from. Probably pissed off as he is now late for wherever he was going.
I saw it flying in my general direction and I was moving my head to avoid it (well, to avoid it hitting my visor cos it was a big bugger) and in those few seconds I managed to avoid it hitting the visor BUT my old Arai had a 'grille' type thing over the mouth, which was open cos it was damn hot that day
Yup, the bastard bumble bee hit the grille and I ended up with a mouthful of sieved bumble bee bits
I was unimpressed - probably not as unimpressed as the Bumble bee if it had had any idea what was going to happen tho

I doubt if I knew at the time - I stopped as soon as I could to get my lid of and spit out the bits of bee I love bumble bees too - but only flying around, not being sieved into my mouth

Finished the oven bit with the worktop, put the finishers on the top cupboards and modified another to fit around the boiler.
Might get the rest of it fitted next week. If I don't wake up dead from over exertion.

Finished off sanding the floor today!
Swmbo thought that it would be done in about an hour!
It was about 40 odd metres around the edge of the room which had to be done with a sanding disc on the angle grinder...........5 hrs on my hands and knees!

Went to see Dune 2. A word to the wise - have a decent meal before going, it's nearly 3 hours long (including trailers/adverts etc.) Thankfully we'd just eaten a Full Monty breakfast at the local cafe.
It's very good - proper story arc, great cinematography and top drawer CGI.

Went too work, didn't have to turn off the railway as the lousy weather kept all the troubled people at home!
Cooked a roast for lunch.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just had Hans, the satellite repair man around to fit a new bit on the dish.
Never met him before, but he has a whimsical musical tone to his voice on the telephone.
He gets out of the van and I see a white haired......
After he came down the ladder he announced 'alles klar'
I actually choked on my coffee!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went into work about ten mins early as was doing a couple of short transfers this morning. The second was a train station transfer for an american gent - brilliant 40 mins of conversation, great start to the day.
Then I got a call from a colleague who should have been doing a GVA transfer only she was feeling ill - so she drove to the train station and we swapped cars!
So, I've been to GVA on a Monday morning for the first time in a few years Was quite a nice drive, apart from the monsoon style rain
FFS - if the temps were just a bit lower we'd have had an absolute ton of snow - instead it's been bastard raining in resort all bloody day

Re: What have you done today thread?
Possibly a containment issue (only really an issue if the tray it's on isn't clean ) but that looks to be a pretty perfect gravy to dinner ratioMingtheMerciless wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:17 pmI accept there may have been a containment issue…gremlin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:16 pmYou want a bit of dinner with that gravy?MingtheMerciless wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 8:26 pm Went too work, didn't have to turn off the railway as the lousy weather kept all the troubled people at home!
