Friday thread.... it's getting springy....

Post by weeksy »

Not much, but a little. Was out doing stuff yesterday in garage and noticing how warm and sunny it was, it was almost acceptable.

However, our plans this weekend are likely to scupper that

Fri. WFH, then driving to North Wales with the boy.. Porthmadog tonight, beers, food :)
Sat. Crazy DH day at Antur Stiniog bike park... then if we survive, pizza in Dolgellau and off to Dyfi
Sun. Crazy DH day at Dyfi bike park, with some luck, back home. :D

Depends on the weather.

Got some willows to pollard, guttering to put up, pond plants to track down, buy and install. If it rains then it's back to the loft project. Daily trip to Screwfix today :D

Car in for service/MoT. Might put 4 new tyres on it before it goes in. £Ouch.

From the bushes outside his house, or legitimately?

Looking at the weather forecast I suspect this weekend might involve gardening.

On a proper indoor theatre. IIRC, doesn't he live in Australia?

Tickets were a birthday present from Foal.

Gym later! Missed the delivery of my new Makita batteries, so no lawn cutting! Final coat of paint on the lounge walls. Repair skiting, sanding down etc. Got two dirty cars, one dirty bike and one filthy camper that need my attention. I think the Eastern Europeans might get the cars and i'll do the bike and camper. Wife off to her Uncles 90th birthday party on Sunday so I might go to the pub with my Son for an hour or two...

Did the old batteries fail?

(Saw a thing on IG about reviving apparently dead batteries ie charger fails to recognise battery as present).

One is an old one I nicked off my mate and the other is a snide/copy one thats a couple of years old now. The lawn mower just fades, so i figured it'll be one or both of the batteries, but its just a guess.

Lates today and final planning for the Great British Litter Pick!
Saturday and Sunday will be spent driving very slowly along the M1 from about J15 to J20 collecting A frames/tyres/bedside cabinets etc from the verges as part of the above. Highest paid dustman in the country!!
Anyone travelling that way, lanes 1& 2 will be closed with lower speeds on a rolling basis as we move through the patch.
Shame that the Great British Public leave so much crap at the sides of motorways!!
Enjoy, whatever you’re up to.

We did have two house viewings on Saturday but we accepted an offer on it this morning so no idea. Pub tonight and then see how it goes.

WFH today. Writing up an interview summary to sort out moving a brilliant chap from our Malta nearshore team to the UK, then I'm taking a flyer.

Tonight going to the Glee Club with a mate to see Daniel Foxx.

Sat/Sun I'll be starting off my tomatoes, cucumbers, etc, and hoping to get out on the bike if it dries up on Sunday like it's currently supposed to. 😊

Today is mostly being on the ferry, it's just cleared Mull judging by the increased motion, and them home. 'Tis a lovely day for a Hebridean cruise.

Tomorrow will be unloading the van of this trip's accumulated stuff. Two beds, three doors, a washing machine, two stationary engines, a freezer and a new strimmer.

Sunday will be using the new strimmer.

Well that all changed before it'd got started! I told the wife the camper had passed its MOT and she said quick, see if we can book up somewhere for next weekend. So I did, but that meant changing next weeks planned birthday drinks for step f-i-l to this saturday, which I also did. So decorating gets shelved again! Wonder if it'll get done before KFBs kitchen...
