NBT: I’ve just bought my forever bike, part 2!

As it's a matter the weeks until the inevitable change occurs, I'll sit tight and wait for the new season, episode 1.

Honestly, I can't see it going anywhere. Its comfortable, with multiple positions to put your feet. Its stupidly economical for a 750 with its 70+mpg. Lid fits under the seat so I can go into town and not have to lug that around and not need to have a topbox either. Okay power wise its hardly going to set my world on fire, but it got more than enough for what I need and I have the different modes on the DCT if needed, but I don't think i've used Sport mode more than twice. Its incredibly easy to ride and and i'm quite happy pootling about on it, keeping to teh speed limits.

I'm trying to be objective and think of things that aren't so good with it, but all I can think of is I get a bit of buffeting off the screen, but its not even enough to annoy me and once the warmer weather comes i'll lower the adjustable screen and that will cure it for the warmer months anyway.

I've still got the CB1000R sitting in the garden, a bike I really like, despite being uncomfortable for me, but not once have i thought i'll give that a run today. There's no way i'd walk past the x-adv to get on that instead. No one is more surprised at how pleased I am with the x-adv than me!

The X-ADV is about the only bike that could entice me back.... But it realistically won't as i honestly have no use for a bike at all. If i could find a use for one.... Yup, it'd tick all the boxes.

TBH mate, you're used to a lot quicker and more focused bikes, so I doubt it'd do anything for you at all? If I didnt need a biek for commuting, i'd probably not even have one...

I don't need the speed these days matey, i scare myself more on a MTB than i did on track since stopping racing. I just would have it for shooting out for a mid-afternoon pint or meeting up with people.

However as i say, 99% of the time these days, i'd do both/either of those on a pedal version anyway.

Re tail tidy and rain spray, yes you get it all over you, but it certainly stops people sitting up yer chuff!

I'd be having a bit of a melt down if my bike got that dirty!

When I used to commute all year long, the Saturday morning ritual was bike cleaning, oiling and greasing. Keep in mind that this was when you only had to blink and the bike had corrosion.

Gotta be time for the man with a bucket to visit.
