Yebbut, governments come and go and the Civil Service is the 'continuity candidate' that actually operates the machinery of state and have to keep stuff running so no wonder they resist knee jerk political change/stop politicians* doing something stupid.
...
Hey, when the Civil Service knows best as it always believes it does who needs democracy and elections, eh?
When they have an electorate who don't vote or don't care, and politicians who are in it for short term gain, they may well be right?

It's like playing spot-the-tosser when someone trots out that phrase. I recognise the intent behind but it just feels an unnecessarily glib way to phrase it. I notice Sunak says it a lot.

It's a bit like being on an Airbus A380 as a passenger. I'm happier knowing the pilot has 20 years commercial flying experience rather than was previously a Management Consultant or Fund Manager and was chosen last week by a public vote where half the voters are below average intelligence. :D

Fine if the ex-Management Consultant/Fund Manager stays in the office and consults/handles the finance/talks strategy but you don't really want them at the controls or telling the pilot how to fly an A380.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one

It's from the transcript of the hearing, nothing to do with the credibility of Fox.

Yebutt. Fox = disinformation or misinformation. You need to find your news in the Grauniad or the BBC, they are the arbiters of truth.

It's Fox's version of a transcript. Now, they would never manipulate or edit it at all.
TBF, the Grauniad has always done the same, trying to make the world a bleaker place to live in (said by someone who bought it for 20 years). The BBC now seem to have a bias agenda. It's best to use as many media sources as you can. But I never bother with Fox "Let Trump roger me first and then the wife" News

I've said this before but using a comparison of who-is-the-most-shit as a premise for president choosing is flawed on so many levels.

Both Biden and Trump are variations of the same recipe of shit sandwich. You can extol the virtues of either, but ultimately you've chosen to choke down a shit sandwich whilst ridiculing the other guy also munching a shit sandwich.

People in the US say we need Voter ID.... I think Voter IQ would be a better idea.

Today, roomie got her 2nd mail in ballot for last weeks election. I think they have now extended the deadline for mail in ballots out to 3 months.. so they can keep sending them out & receiving them until the Democrats get the result they want.

Texas' current big blaze has the same sort of cause.
Turns out that the fires *started* transmission lines are actually started by trees falling on the lines that would have been cut/trimmed/felled/managed if Benito Newsolini would just stop suing people (including the Fed Govt) for trying the manage the forests.
He also got busted for lying about how much forest clean up his program had done (it was about 10% of what he claimed).. & he also cut the fire mitigation budget by $500M just in time for one of the largest fires in State history.

but yeah, familiar with MTG's insane rantings.
Indeed, it's all the guvna's fault. Statements from PG&E suggest they've touted their extensive tree trimming and removal program to prevent trees from falling on power lines. In January they put out a statement saying they've got more than 8 million trees with in strike distance of their power lines. They're also working on switching to buried power lines. There is an inherent problem with clearing large swaths of trees in the mountains of California. Landslides. Heavy rains on bald mountains have a tendency to create landslides. Catch 22. PG&E has agreed to paying a $45 million settlement.

"No evidence that Trump ever did that."

Bwahahahahahahahaha!

Evidently that isn't what Hur concluded. Biden was just some memory impaired old fart that forgot who and where he was. No charges filed. Yet we'll be hearing about this until hell freezes over. Just like Hillary's emails (a crime that was repeated by various other republican officials that followed her time in office.)

The large print testimony up there ^^^ is in reference to a ghost writer that Biden conferred with over two books, the second one being the one in question. About those audio recordings, the ghost writer destroyed them. It's he said, he said with Biden and Zwonitzer. Biden denies the allegations that the ghost writer made. By Hur's conclusion, meh.

Let's see, tons of boxes all over Merde-a-Lardhole. All moved about by hired hands of Defendant Trump's. Many missing and of those located many were in a wee bit of a mess, empty folders, shit mixed in with newspapers, probably some covered in McDonald's hamberder detritus. It is also coming to light that several boxes were loaded onto an airplane and sent to New Jersey after Trump had been begged and then ordered to hand them all back.
I seem to recall some recorded conversations where there was joking between Trump and someone else about classified documents in their presence.

Yep, Donald J Trump, innocence incarnate.

Seriously, why is it that all of these republican efforts to pin shit on Biden end up going down the toilet in an embarrassing fashion. Star witness to connect Biden to crimes involving his son gets indicted (or is it indickted TM Marjorie Taylor Green) for lying to the FBI and is a Russian asset. All of this shit with Hur is just that, shit. That isn't MSM twisting of facts, that's an arrest that has actually happened and the contents of Hur's transcript of HIS conversation with President Biden all laid out bare in public hearings. A clear example of why the republican party wanted to question Hunter Biden behind closed doors.

And lastly, just because it never gets old, a quote from clear minded Defendant Trump "...heard that Saudi Arabia and Russia will Re Be Doog Gahhh."

What we need is an educated citizenry. FFS, even some of the officials in the US Congress don't know the three branches of the federal government.

Did your roomie re-register to vote at the department of motor vehicles?
Do you know what would happen if she filled out both and tried to cast two votes?

Nope, did nothing to trigger being sent a 2nd ballot.
Yes, of course I do.

So it wouldn't result in undetected voter fraud if she did something stupid.
