Re: A right now thread
Sitting outside at the Temple Pub in Aydın with draft beer and waiting for a Belfast Snack to arrive.
M has had her second (and last) eye operated on but it's a bitter sweet moment - her dad died 2 years ago today and coming here we missed the funeral of an old friend who died in Ankara a few days ago but has been buried in the village today.
The bleed from my ear has had an affect on my hearing - which was going downhill anyway so it looks like a hearing aid will be on the cards. The music is at an acceptable level for me but I suspect it's actually quite loud.

The Belfast Snack was excellent! A big bowl of very tasty French fries, 4 sausages, 4 samosa type things, onion rings and 2 very tasty lumps of chicken. Couple of dips.
Easily enough for 2. £5.
I might start coming here once a fortnight, apart from the 2.5 hour drive.

Any chance it bled into your ear canal and (partially) blocked it?Yambo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 5:34 pm Sitting outside at the Temple Pub in Aydın with draft beer and waiting for a Belfast Snack to arrive.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. I'll see the local chemist tomorrow, maybe get some earache stuff and probably book an appt. at the hospital audiology department. There's a bit of discomfort now.
I had a hearing test a few months ago as people were telling me there was a problem but it has got noticeably worse since the bleeding. The arthritic hip will have to wait!

I'm not bothered by my age.
I just don't like the side-effects.

Re: A right now thread
I should have left for work half an hour ago, but not only is it pissing down, the dartford bridge is shut due to "people on the crossing"! Apparently the whole area is gridlocked and the alternative routes are clogging fast. I think i'll just have another cuppa and monitor the situation as i cba to ride though that with people jumping lanes to get into anything that looks like a gap...

Looks all closed and, as you say, getting anywhere is going to be traffic cascading out and do or die tactics.Taipan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:29 am I should have left for work half an hour ago, but not only is it pissing down, the dartford bridge is shut due to "people on the crossing"! Re: A right now thread
Been going on since 6 this morning. Sounds like a suicide prevention in progress, rather than the just stop oil protest it was thought to be.? I can go north to the a127 but apparently that's clogging quicker than a smokers arteries...

On a similar topic. Looks like avoiding the southern chunk of the M25 this w/e is advisable. 5 mile stretch completely closed around J10 from Friday night until 6am Monday.
I'd say they're boiling the ocean on making J10 work a bit better. By the time they've finished RHS Wisley won't have any trees around it and all you'll hear on a stroll around the gardens will be traffic.

Just waiting for the world to fall out of my bottom. Just had the first dose of powder in preparation for the colonoscopy tmrw.
Last time they found something naughty so it's being chopped out tmrw.
I'm scared to death in all honesty.
