I agree, they are niche bikes, your average scroat isn't going to able to get a Greeves running and keep it running.

Just had a visit from 2 PCSOs who gave me sympathetic advice and left some smartwater. Ordered a couple of shed alarms and I think will get a wereless burglar alarm as well. At £100 they're cheap enough.

In terms of CCTV etc the cul de sac comes from a minor road which has no houses on it so isn't really overlooked. Mind you when I lived in suburban Brum on a busy road my bikes and cars were always getting nicked.

Not the easiest bikes to flick on unless they went straight across the channel for a new life in eastern Europe.
A cul de sac is usually safer as there's more chance of getting caught. Shame no ones got a CCTV rigged up.

My biggest pisser with living in the UK was bike thieves. Neighbor in Cambridge had two Nortons nicked one night. A 750 & an later 850. Had a sight issue with insurance & the cops as they shared the same license plate & tax disc...

I think there's a Samsung equivalent too.

They're not proper trackers, someone with a suitable phone has to be within Bluetooth range for them to report back to the internet which by default is turned on on most iphones, etc... so if it's hidden in a lock up you won't get a location until someone random walks past with an iphone with the feature still enabled.

Better than nothing, but no good if it's being kept in the middle of bum fuck nowhere.

With the 'new' anti-stalker feature that both Apple & Android run I don't know if this is still a viable option, it all depends on how long it takes for the phone to report than an unknown tracker is following you about I suppose.

Hopefully i'll never have to find out, but id certainly approach the Police with the live tracking information before rallying the militia!
