My son convinced me to buy my Honda, he told me to flip a coin and I'd know if I really wanted it, he was right.

For a considerable amount of folk the retail price doesn't matter, just the monthly payments.

If I walked in my local bike shop without any form of payment, they'd let me pay later.

You don't get a discount for cash these days. The dealer makes money on the finance commission, so they'd rather wait for someone to buy it on the never-never.

It's not about discount, it's about having a big wad of cash and coming out with a bike, it's a great feeling.

You'll get a better deal using finance, the dealer makes money selling you finance.

I bought 7 brand new GSXR1000s for cash. Never paid more than £8500 in uk.

Cash was king in the winter months when they weren't selling anything.

I'd buy 4 or 6 250cc bikes and have them modified to pull a roman chariot.

Do you think you need to pay road tax for all 4, or is it considered 1 vehicle?

And how many axels is it for the purposes of bridge tolls, given that bikes are often free?

If they're all 250 can you drive it on an A2 license?

I actually wanted to say "will it have brown leather trimming around the upper edges of the bodywork", but I was on a phone and in a hurry to get the joke in. hey ho.

late to the party as usual!
Instinctively I'd probably look at 4 x 10k bikes but as thems not the rules I'll narrow it down a bit.

An 1100 Evo powered Ducati special based on a Pierobon kit:

I'd have it far less extreme position wise with ust a half or nose fairing and comfy seat!

Alernatively, a Unit Garage R Nine T as a practical daily rider.

Nice one - that's about as close to Stucy's modified DB2 as you could buy off the shelf...
