Buy now, pay later (or don't) for a Ducati Scrambler 800 on new 50/50 interest-free finance deal
Ducati have launched a one-of-a-kind finance offer on their £10,995 Full Throttle, and Nightshift plus £9995 Icon Scrambler retro models.
The deal will give customers access to a brand-new bike, totally interest free and with no monthly repayments to pay with a 50% upfront deposit.
After two years, customers can then choose to pay the remaining half of the bike’s retail value, securing their ownership, or give the keys back and move on to another brand-new model.
Whatever option is elected for, no interest will be charged on the original purchase price and the deal is completely free of monthly instalments.
The offer applies exclusively to any of the three 800 Scrambler models in Ducati’s lineup. The big brother in the family, Ducati’s larger and more premium £14,495 Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro, is not included but can be purchased through a traditional monthly finance agreement.
The 800 Scrambler fleet gives customers the choice between three models. All are fundamentally similar, sharing the same trellis chassis and 803cc 71.9bhp four-valve Desmodromic air-cooled V-twin motor.
Suspension and seat height remain the same across the board too, only weight differs slightly, with the spoked-wheeled Nightshift coming in at 176kg, 6kg more than its cast wheels shod siblings.
If Scramblers aren’t your thing, Ducati will also be running a Season Opening event in most dealers on Saturday, 20 April – giving customers the chance to head along and sample the new range.
This includes the raucous new £10,995 Hypermotard 698 Mono supermoto or luxurious £23,595 Multistrada V4S Grand Tour adventure bike.

My Diavel is 13 years old this year. It has only just gone down to 50% of its original value

Think about it like this : instead of buying a 5K shitter every 2 years*: you can buy a brand new Ducati for 5K every 2 years.

When I was despatching, I was doing 50k a year. I'm not sure they'd be overjoyed with me doing 100,000 miles on a half-price bike!
I assume there are T&Cs about max mileage and dealer servicing.

Put like that it seems a bargain at £48/week!

And two year old Scrambler 800s are around £8.5-9 grand at the moment!

Find me another vehicle you can hire for £48/week. (With no mileage charges?) I don't think Rent-a-Wreck are that cheap.

I would have guessed a PCP or whatever is still a better deal, even with interest*. Surely these kinda bikes don't half in value inside 2 years?
*and of course you can keep your big wad of cash which was gonna pay that 50% to earn interest of it's own

I think the sensible way to go would be to buy it after 2 years. I wouldn't hire anything for 2 years.

Oh quite so. I was just looking at it from a different angle.

Yonks ago I bought a new car on HP, it was standard that you could hand back the keys halfway through and walk away owing nothing. This sounds pretty much the same except you are making the payments up front.

Yeah that's fairly normal, my car is like that. It's just that I don't have to pay fifty percent of the value

I'm surprised anyone would even consider this after Couch's damming review of the Scrambler!
