I like the idea of a 650 weighing in at <160 kg, but the rest of the specn doesn't float my boat.

As for spending £40k on a bike, I wouldn't. I could, although Mrs CJ would be unhappy, but I like VFM and £40k for a bike isn't.

£40k would get you a Panigale V4R, as long as you didn't spec any accessories.

Paton does nothing for me and 'RACE BIKE FOR THE ROAD' has never seemed a good idea.
I typed 'highest price first' in Ebay motorcycles and was nearly at page 3 before i got to 40k.
Nothing really stood out until i got to a Morgan 3 Wheeler with a SS V Twin, i could happily
own one of them over the Paton.

I'm glad that Paton are still going and (apparently) flourishing, but an old style 650cc twin racer for the road with twin shocks wouldn't make me part with £20k, let alone £40k.

But if it floats your boat, don't ask us, just get it bought.

For 40k you'd get something bespoke, surely?

Such as, in my case :D

What engine is it ? What's the servicing like ?

Personally... no, not even remotely....

I'd buy a KTM RC8C or the MV Agusta you previously owned in a heartbeat over it.

I do like the look of it, but I couldn't spend that much on a bike (well, not unless I had 100 x that still in the bank afterwards!!)

I'd rather buy an MT10 and a second hand MX5 :D :D

I don't think I'd get any more pleasure or use out of a bike at £40k than I would out of a £15k one. Considerably less out of anything sports bike shaped and with no luggage capacity. It's in the trinkets/ornaments category for me but I can see it would suit others, particularly if you happen to have a bike fleet without one in.

Paton used to use the Kawasaki 650 twin from the ER-6, dunno if they still do.

Wow.... £40k for a Kwak 650 twin bike (i assumed it'd be that as i thought that was what they used in TT)... the rest of it would have to be incredibly special !

Once you add in the reviews and the fact there's a 1 mile 2021 bike for £24,000 then jeeeps i'm even more put off it.

I wouldn't buy it if it was £4K, I don't like it.

The only bike I'd spend £40K on is a well sorted TZ750, but I'm not convinced I'd ride it more than once as I suspect it wouldn't be that great an experience.

Yeah, if it pulls at your plums then why not?

But to everyone else it looks a bit like a Bandit with a fairing.

Having thought about it, I'd rather have a tarted up ER-5

I can think of much better ways to spend £40k.

That's bloody gorgeous!!

But, with my track record (even my road record) I wouldn't risk that much money on any bike I was actually going to ride
