Dementia friendly cinema

Post by Horse »

One local venue says:

As part of our film programme, we are running Dementia Friendly Screenings in our cinema for anyone who might benefit from a more relaxed environment.

These screenings are designed to meet the needs of people living with dementia along with their families and carers. During the screening, lights are left on low, the sound is reduced, and audiences can feel free to move around (or sing along to any musical numbers they know!) to offer a more relaxed cinema environment. There is also a short comfort break in the middle of the film.

I wonder whether the choice of movie might be important too?
