Better at what?
A nice roast Great Dane will feed a family of 4, a grilled Siamese is a tasy snack for one.

Mate had a cat and when he went on holiday he just locked it out. He said it knew how to fend for itself. It came back home within a Day or two of his return and no one was any the worse for it. It was the only advantage I ever saw over a dog.

Bet he hates doing it as well. I blame my direct neighbour for my cats living his garden more as he is not keen on cutting the grass much Chippy stones and longer grass my lot love them.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 10:09 pmOne of mine has got so old, he shits in his own garden!

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
Dogs all day long.
Wife is away for a few days and I've been instructed not to be mean to the cat. I've been at work (well, a team meeting with food and beers) all day, came home to see the cat and it made angry noises at me so it can do one. At least a dog would have been pleased to see me.

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
My cat was giving me grief about feeding him a couple of minutes ago. I told him to give it a rest or I'd be voting for dogs.
That shut him up.
That shut him up.

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
Cats rule.
They don't stink
They don't make loads if annoying yappy noises that annoy other people.
You don't have to walk them
Cost less to feed and insure
Look cool and are generally just friendly to have about. Plus they are total nutters an make you laugh out of no-where...
Dogs can go do one, and hopefully not in my local park...
Sweeping generalisation alert - i also tend to find more intelligent people have cats and stupid people tend to like dogs!

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
Dogs are like furry children, and I'm not saying that in a good way.
3000 years ago cats were worshipped as gods........cats have never forgotten this!
If you love living with a psychotic sociopath, then a cat's your animal.
If you want 'I luvs u', get a thai bride as it will be cheaper and less trouble in the long run

Quite frankly I'm just worried that the general mental state of this place is slipping, badly.

Walking the dog keeps me fit.
And when I take him to the pub, there's a constant stream of girlies coming to stroke him

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
Our cat, even as a kitten, never pissed or shat anywhere other than his litter tray or someone else's garden. If you can't clean a litter tray out. a cat is not for you.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 11:21 amA choice between having a home smelling like wet dog and slobber or cat piss & shit, yeah I'll choose neither thanks.

Get yourself a cat that tolerates a harness and lead (ours does), take him or her for a walk, and you will be beating the tottie off with a stick. I wish I'd realised this as a younger man...

Re: Are cats better than dogs?
I don't care if you follow it around 24/7 and empty the tray within 5 minutes of it curling one out, it stinks and your house smells of it.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 11:43 amOur cat, even as a kitten, never pissed or shat anywhere other than his litter tray or someone else's garden. You're used to it, and its fine for you, but if a non pet owner walked in they'd notice long before they saw they saw the cat.
