Place + in front of a word which must be found and - in front of a word which must not be found. Put a list of words separated by | into brackets if only one of the words must be found. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches.

I tried the following and all I find is this thread or threads with spanners only in them.
"c spanner"
+c spanner
+c+spanner
c|spanner
(c|spanner)

I'd expect it'll be 'search string too small' type scenario as i can't search for R for example or Y as there's too many examples, most searches require 3 or 5 characters minimum.

Would Triumph C Spanner work? Or Honda, Yamaha etc.

I doubt it, because C is a single letter either way.

It's not a direct search engine. The software has to create the SQL on the fly from what it's given.

IIRC it's called dynamic SQL.

There's a weakness in the software, or there should be an obvious delimiter value for the space.

It's the same on all forums. I'm not sure how it could be done, but I don't think anyone does it

You can search in Google via site:
https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/forums/ ... le-engine/

But I don't know if that will help
