That would certainly help reduce the death toll
Possibly but as Israel has been taking Palestinian children as young as twelve into custody for years with no civillian trial then it might not be a great idea to trust them?

All this reported by the UN.

The UN rapporteur mentioned it, up there^.

"Human rights groups have long criticized the workings of Israel’s military law, a legal framework that is selectively applied to Palestinians living in occupied territories, while Israeli settlers hold increased rights under civil law. Save the Children reported that 86 percent of children are beaten in Israeli detention, while 69 percent are strip-searched and 42 percent are subject to injuries during their arrests. "

Does “children” ever mean teenagers who try to stab the Police?

Could be a reduced number of killed Palestinians. Be optimistic!

I think that would leave plenty to discuss.

God did it once before, admittedly on a smaller scale and using celestial technology. Sodom, Gomorrah, and Lot's wife as a civilian casualty.

If he can do it it is obviously OK.

I think that's Iran's intent when it has accumulated enough weapons grade fissile material from its centrifuges.

So the bottom line has finally been reached.

Gantz: We will launch Rafah op if hostages aren’t returned

National Unity chair and war cabinet minister Benny Gantz says, “There will not be a ceasefire of even one day until the hostages are returned.”

“The fighting will continue until our goals are achieved. It can continue even in the month of Ramadan.

Either the hostages will be returned, or we will extend the fighting to Rafah,” Gantz says in a statement.

Yeah right, so this genocidal massacre of civilians we've been watching for the last few months was all about the return of a few hostages? Bollocks it was. This is just a desperate attempt to justify genocide and perhaps give Israel a way to save face and agree to a ceasefire.

It has always been about two main things:

1. The hunting down and killing of those responsible for the October 7th attack.

2. The return of the hostages. Israel has a particularly uncompromising policy about recovering hostages.

If it was just about the return of the hostages an offer was on the negotiating table - and it was rejected - so there's more to it than that.

There never was "an offer on the negotiating table ... just about the return of the hostages". As you can see below, there was indeed a great deal "more to it than that".

Hamas proposes three-stage ceasefire over 135 days, leading to end of war

By Samia Nakhoul and Andrew Mills
February 7, 20248:17 AM GMTUpdated 9 days ago

DOHA, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Hamas has proposed a ceasefire plan that would quiet the guns in Gaza for four-and-a-half months leading to an end to the war, in response to a proposal sent last week by Qatari and Egyptian mediators and backed by the United States and Israel.

According to a draft document seen by Reuters, the Hamas counterproposal envisions three phases lasting 45 days each.

The proposal would see militants exchange remaining Israeli hostages they captured on Oct. 7 for Palestinian prisoners. The reconstruction of Gaza would begin, Israeli forces would withdraw completely, and bodies and remains would be exchanged.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived overnight in Israel after meeting the leaders of mediators Qatar and Egypt in the most serious diplomatic push of the war so far aimed at reaching an extended truce. Details of Hamas's counteroffer have not previously been reported.

According to the Hamas counterproposal, all Israeli women hostages, males under 19, the elderly and sick would be released during the first 45-day phase in exchange for the release of Palestinian women and children from Israeli jails.

Remaining male hostages would be released during the second phase, and remains exchanged in the third phase. By the end of the third phase, Hamas would expect the sides to have reached agreement on an end to the war.

The group, which governs Gaza, said in an addendum to the proposal that it wished for the release of 1500 prisoners, a third of whom it wanted to select from the a list of Palestinians handed life sentences by Israel.

It's always been just about one thing - the removal of the Palestine nation from their land. If that involves genocide, then so be it.

I’m sure I heard someone say it’s about the removal of the Israeli nation from their land.
