We said no to cards too, but then she bought me one! I'm not in trouble though, as i'm taking her out tonight. Phew! :D
My missus did the exact same thing! Agreed at the weekend not to bother, then a bloody card appears.

Yup. For years we agreed not to do anything as she said she wasn't bothered and didn't want anything. I agreed. So we didn't. Until yesterday when I had an unsigned card thrown at me. She then storms off upstairs and slams the bedroom door mumbling that maybe she expects too much. WTF?

Anyway, are they still selling valentines cards in the shops? Serious question!

Day late Valentine's card? Worse than no card at all.

Employ the, 'I don't have a specific day that I love you. My love is 24/7, 365' strategy.

And get your shit together for the weekend as you have some serious points to be making up.

Well I had a lovely meal out, I indulged in some classically Swabian cuisine and beer  I don't think there was a single item in my dinner which wasn't beige.

Mrs. D very much appreciated the photos of it I sent her on WhatsApp.

Sigh. If only that would work. I know it will be screwed up infront of my face and thrown in the bin. Single life was so much easier!

Any woman who'd do that, would be getting her shit put in a bin bag and being told in no uncertain terms to fuck right off. Whether i was in the right or the wrong, i ain't putting up for shit like that.

Gotta say I’m with you on that one

TBF, as a (very) long term singleton I have just read these posts thinking “who the fuck says don’t buy me a card/present and then gets pissy when the person told doesn’t buy a card/present??”

What planet are these women from??

Makes me somewhat embarrassed to be the same sex to be honest :( :(

I like Weeksy's notion that you could fit all your other half's shit in a bin bag

Not sure about the rest of it ;)

If being married,or living with someone isn't better than being single, then it's a waste of effort by two people and why on earth would you?

Yeah, sorry to hijack the thread but I'm a victim of Domestic Abuse and I'm currently seeking help as to what to do. First time I've ever mentioned it as I normally get laughed at.

Hope things work out for you soon.

Never worked out why people feel the need to do that to others, mentally or physically. xx

There are support groups for men in that situation but what you really need is some insurance in case she decides to use the police as a weapon, they will take the woman's side and you'll need evidence to prove she is the abusive one. Plod have lots of ways to screw you over without going near a court and they will to tick their boxes, truth only matters when it's convenient for them.
Try to get some secret recordings of her behaviour just in case. Don't start any arguments or let her provoke you, just look for an escape route.

As a note of how pathetic the police are I was labelled (against my choice) a victim of crime and offered support because a teenage strop involved a jar of pickle being thrown on the floor. They said if he was an adult he would have been arrested for criminal damage, stay well clear of them and don't give her any ammo.
