Did you see the Dukes of Hazzard Movie?
This is one of the main reasons I wouldn't want anything I liked in the past to be 'remade' - they always fuck it up, so no thanks!!!

What he said.
Those that have been remade ain't exactly shining examples of televisual excellence.

'Dr Who' & 'Star Trek Next Generation' turned out well.

Luckily, they didn't try and improve on the perfection of Blake's 7 :)

Do they still have a 'referee' that says 'You will go on my first weeeesull and you will go on my second weeeesull'?
Is 'aawooga' still a thing?

Somebody will have to, she died in 2018.

Perhaps when it's remade they can give the people that make the set some fixings to bolt it to the floor. It was definitely "of it's time". It's definitely shoddy if you watch it now.

Not sure I'd want any of my old favourites remade. A PC version of Auf Wiedersehen Pet just wouldn't work. :hmmm:

They still make episodic Star Trek TV series of course, but they're not really Star Trek any more.

Complete with toolboxen visible on set. Most of UK's TV output back then was wobbly, even premium Beeb shows like I, Clavdivs. Flimsy sets and crowd scenes of about a dozen people.

Allegedly, the producers of Midsomer Murders have been known to contact local amdram groups and ask whether members wanted to be on tv :)

Cheaper than extras ( 'background actors', dahling). They might even bring their own lunch too.

The Mandalorian used/uses Star Wars fan organisations to provide extra Stormtroopers (the 501st Legion, an official club like) so even Disney aren't immune to such things.

I was an extra in CSI NY! 8-) They were filming in central park and everyone was watching. The director came over and said it was great we were all there as murders attract a crowd, so feel free to watch but whne we shout action please be quiet and no flash photography. The camera panned across where we were and i stood as tall as i could. Never watched the episode to see if i was in it though.

A mate has been an extra for years. You will probably have seen him without knowing!

His knees appeared in one scene of Johnny English :D

AKA 'atmosphere'.

A friend's goddaughter went off to seek fame and fortune in the film industry (clutching the obligatory script to pitch) across the pond - mainly Canada. Got a few 'extras' jobs and came home saying 'a year of standing around waiting and trying to keep warm'was quite enough, thank you v much'.

You're probably right, but done well, it'd be epic.

Note to self: find the set and read again. (After completing Wheel of Time)

Oh shit,I ran out of steam with that one. The first book or two were good, then I went under in a tidal wave of names all sounding similar. Plus the bugger went and died before he finished the series. :(

The original series was filmed at the Paramount Ranch near the RockStore in LA County, just up the road from the MASH location. I ride past both locations on the way to/from the RockStore.
