Even in early doors testing it would appear that the GP24 Ducati is a bit of a weapon, and the 2023 bike is at a disadvantage. And that's without the fabled aero updates that Ducati have yet to fit to this year's bikes. Good to see Brad Binder mixing it with the top Ducatis.

As we were discussing in another thread, all the factories seem to be going all-out on the aero stuff now, particularly Aprilia :wtf:

You see F1 cars with an arrangement like that during testing, I presume it measures the wake they're leaving and as such can quantify the effectiveness of the aero. But one thing's for certain, the aero is making the bikes look pig ugly. You certainly wouldn't pay good money for anything that looked like some of the aero abominations.

There's a video on the Official MotoGP Friendface feed of what the Aero Rake is and what it does.

Cheers. So they use it to check how the real world compares to the results from their CFD package. Nice.

Looking depressingly Ducati. I wonder what the story is on Bez? 17th and 1.3 off.

Does doesn't it. Esp the 24 version, although 3 of the fastest riders anyway. Alex was moaning a bit about the 23 bike saying he didn't like it as much as the 22 bike he had last year but he's peddling it well now.

Acosta is doing well again, it's sad to say but wonder where he'd be on a Ducati!!

I notice the fastest laps were all set early on so assume there have been some race simulation testing which would be interesting to see a comparison of.

Top Japanese bikes in 10th and 11th. Doesn't suggest they've made enough progress yet, really hope they do though.

Hard to say on Marc, that's a pretty good time for a new to him bike and one that's last years bike. I suspect he might have been able to put the Honda in 6th though so be interesting to watch for sure. Tests rarely show too much.

This is one of the longest tracks so the gaps will be smaller on most other tracks.

Is MM keeping his powder dry, or still just trying to understand the Ducati.
Pretty sure he'd have been happy to have been in this position last year!
Probably understands that you don't win a championship on a test day as well!
