Some people are nuts about them. :D

Our marketing girl has had an Evoque for 6 months, it was back at the dealers three times in the first month, she can't wait to get rid of it and wants a leccy Ford of all things.

I've been researching I-Paces and the owners experiences of the cars and especially the Jag stealerships are astonishingly bad.
If they were bikes, they'd be full of character!

Ford dropped the hybrid Explorer from the line up for 2025... & cut F150 Lightning production by 50%.

Didn't really want an EV, but just got one to annoy ZRX :)

Is that the Q4? It doesn't look very 'tall'. :hmmm:

It is, and it's fairly tall. But it's the Sportback version that's specifically designed to be a bit less comfortable in the back. The missus preferred the look of them.

It's like a lot of modern cars really that are quite cleverly designed to look modestly proportioned.. until you see them next to something 10 years old! I mean, it's the base model and those are 20" wheels for scale...

I agree with the Count then :D

Good point re: scale though. I bet those trailer wheels are actually fairly normal sized trailer wheels!

Well the wife doesn't want a Tesla 3 or a Jag I-Pace cos neither of them have a roof that comes off.

So top of the current list is the M240i Convertible, which isn't very electric at all... how much dino juice do we have left?

There's deffo a gap in the market for a drop top leccy car... like the original Tesla Roadster that they don't make anymore :)

You know...that's a good point.

I just had a look at the "other" EV scheme at work, the one which lets you buy cars from other brnads, and filtered by "Convertible". I feel like they're taking the piss here :hmmm:

Convertibles have to be built a bit more heavily to avoid the scuttle shake. Electric cars are heavy anyway due to batteries. Could be no-one thinks a 3-tonne drop-top is sellable.

Yeah.

Not sure if you can buy one yet.. there were some reviews a few months ago, but the MG page just has a form for updates.

Ah, yes. I see a few of the sportsback models around and wondered why people went for them. The rearward visibility looks much diminished. (I blame the RR Evoke for the trend towards rear screens the size of a letterbox).

I suppose the latest Polestar takes the trend to the ultimate conclusion.
