I would if I hated it.
Don't forget the gear change is on the wrong side and the brakes don't work half as well as you might expect them too. It'll vibrate and leak oil.

I rode my dad's 1963 A65 a few times, it was an acquired taste. I'd deffo try and get a ride on something similar first.

I don't find the gears being on the wrong side (and race pattern too in my case!) a problem TBH. The whole experience of riding the bike is so different there's never any confusion.

It's the lack of CV carbs which is the most interesting difference for me.

Oh and the shit tyres  And vibrating like Katie Prices dildo.

Any pre 1980 bike is a bit of an acquired taste, the older a bike gets the more concentration it takes to ride it, slide carbs definitely take time to learn how to use, especially big slide carbs, and Dell Orto is Italian for "work of the devil"

I'm not so keen on that bit admittedly.

Yeah it does strike me as kinda funny that the vehicles more likely to be falling apart are the ones which don't need checks :D

I think I pay ~£120 for a 1969 T120R on an agreed value policy by the way. Footman James are good. Note you typically can't use your NCB on a classic policy with them, nor would you earn any through having one.

You can still get it MOT'd - it's just not a legal requirement.

I (will) get the JAPton MOT'd.

Does not having indicators pose a problem with other road users assuming that you’ve got them?

If you buy something ancient, convert it to 12v and get some Lucas period looking indicators retrofitted. Shouldn't be silly money.

EDIT:

You might have to knock up a simple loom/relay, but the parts seem sensible money...

My Bonnie doesn't have them.

I do actually wave my arms about like you're meant to, but I doubt many people realise why I'm doing it :D Not been taken out yet.

In general with that bike though, I leave a bigger gap to everything, leave more room etc. etc.

I guess as long as they see you and they slow down. Since I got rear ended last year I’m more concerned about this kind of thing than I used be.

You probably wouldn't want to rely on Lucas brake lights then....

No mirrors on me Bonnie either! I take my life in my own hands.
