2 x twin led batten lamps for the garage to replace the obsolete fluorescent one.
Bugger me, they're bright. Plus they weigh bugger all and none of that waiting for the tubes to fire up. A score each, so cheap as well.

Gender fluid.
One minute baking up a delicious tart, the next grappling with garage lighting up a step ladder.
All the while wearing heels and suspenders.

Bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glocusent-Knit ... hdGY&psc=1
It's a neck light and it's rather good for fiddly, detail jobs and eg reading when someone else wants the room not too bright for watching TV and I want to read a book in my own little world of light

Well, there y'go, it didn't take 2 years for mine to get used and I'm glad I have one.Potter wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 6:25 amMe too.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:53 pmGot one, it's sat in the boot unloved and unused for 2 years, coming once a year to top of its chargeCount Steer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 1:43 pm I just bought a NOCO battery booster. If it's as good as the one the recovery chap had (if and when needed), I'll be happy. OTOH I may have just bought an expensive torch/phone charger.
.
You only need it when you need it, and if you need it then you'll be glad you have one.
(The car valet man was here this a.m. and was cleaning the shopping trolley. Doors open, windows up and down etc etc. Came to close the windows, got 3 closed before the 12v battery gave up. 'No worrits' sez I. Got the Noco out of the house (no point keeping it in the boot - you can't get in there when the batts flatt)....clip, clip, press....we have power. Stuck the car battery on charge and it's now back to 14.4v.
The irritating thing is the car monitors the power battery but not the 12v so the first time I pressed the 'start' button the car dash lights up etc...but, because the power battery is fine it didn't fire up the engine to charge the 12v one. Doh. I suppose I could have turn the interior temperature setting up to max but, as it was on the drive I just hooked up the charger).

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
We've just got our new TV delivered. The previous was a Samsung non 4k type, we've had it since before the boy was born, so 15+ years. It died on Sunday morning. So Mrs Weeksy bought a new Samsung, bit bigger this time, 43" instead of 40".
Last few days we've had what seems to be about a 28" one we've been using that was a bedroom spare. it's TINY !
