They're used to be a Douglas flat tanker that won the Ramsey Sprint every Manx Week, they can be surprisingly quick, they weigh nothing.

That one ^^^ looks a bit like a speedway bike. What's involved in making it road legal. Could you stick bicycle lights and a phone/GPS on it as a speedo?

I always feel a bit detached from Brit iron. I've only ever owned Jap bikes. (one BMW,but we don't talk about that) I'm mildly curious about the old things,but I've no knowledge at all.

I have found myself admiring a Scott or two in the past,but from a safe distance.

A friend of mine from the VFR forum has a flat twin Dougie and it is a thing of beauty and surprisingly rapid. I'm with Skub on this, most Brit bikes do very little (if anything) for me, but the Dougie is an exception.

I expect it’s pretty exciting, but tuning it for petrol would make it a bit more dull.
