Could well have been en route to another destination so still carrying a lot of fuel which is carried in the wings. Looks like the collision caused an engine to rupture a fuel tank spraying burning aviation fuel along the fuselage towards the rear of the aircraft.

Obvious statement of the day, but jet fuel is really flammable. You don't need much to make a hell of a blaze! Even a plane which has just landed would probably have tonnes (literally) of it on board. They carry enough to divert, circle for a bit etc.

The way this plane caught fire is a bit worrying. It was landing so a light fuel load. And everything inside the plane is fire retardant.

If it's going yo be making several short haul flights, they might not be running light loaded. It's like holiday flights, they don't refuel before heading back to blighty.

Apparently it’s an optional emergency exit that’s blown out. Was panelled as normal on the inside so passengers wouldn’t have been aware there was an exit there.

It took chunks of the (thankfully unoccupied) adjacent seat with it. Fortunately it was at 16k feet and not 36k feet.
