There's a bit where the ice is melting and there's an amount of water on top of the ice and it looks like they're skating on water. Looked pretty magical.

Not the same film, but it is similar. There's 4 skaters on the wild scandinavia one. They're skating on 35mm (i think?) of ice. Bonkers.

Few years ago (the minus 18 winter, mebbe 2012 or so?) and my brother and niece walked right over the Bassenthwaite lake ice.

As kids we often walked across the lake in the local park.
And also a big reservoir.
