Storm Gerrit?

Post by Skub »

Or somesuch. Are you having some?

Bloody hell,it was bad here last night. Hard to sleep from about 2am onward.

Lots of damage and flooding locally, plus power outages. We lost our log bunker, the wind blew it to bits and disappeared it.

More fun to come from tomorrow morning and all day Thursday. A fine end to the year!

Nope, we're just outside the zone according to the met office, although given the state of the motorways this morning I'd have been better off borrowing a jet ski to get to work on.

Gusts peaked at just over F9 here. Which is less than the peak a few days ago, that was well into F11 speeds. Baseload was about F8, nothing unusual.

We're currently about a mile in from the sea, on the North Cornish coast.

According to Windy, the wind speed has dropped. But it's also changed direction and is more from the sea than earlier. So it's louder.

As for rain, we're in the middle of this, somewhere. But going by the radar for the whole of the UK, we've got away lightly.

Just high wind and wet. Few recycle tubs out for a walk but that's about it. It had better not hang around as i need to drive to South Wales on Friday.

My BBQ blew over a coupe of days before Christmas, I've not bothered standing it up because it's still just as windy... only today it's raining too.

Warm and sunny here. I've just hung the laundry out to dry and am about to go out on the mountain bike for a few hours.

Windy and pissing with rain here in the 'shire. Nothing extraordinary but its getting worse by the hour. some flooding on the roads.
I'm spending the day in the kitchen, cooking and looking out the window watching the trees bending in it..

It's been raining steadily all morning and the trees are waving about a bit, but nothing excessive. The cat is severely unimpressed, but then he's a wuss where wind and rain are concerned.

Windy here on the Sarf Coast. No rain (yet), just looked at the rainfall radar and its suggesting heavy rain between 1430 and 1600.

It's been a bit blowy so far. Went out for a bit of a yomp this morning. Didn't need the waterproof jacket but it kept the wind out. Worst thing was I was expecting the café at the sports ground where we parked to be open when we finished....but it wasn't. :(

Wet out there now though.

Rain stopped but wind has picked up to a stiffish breeze that could disturb the head on one's Guinness, were one outside drinking.

(One isn't).

Meh, it's only wind and rain. Never been wetter on a bike. Out for 7 hours today in it.

So long as all the rubbish blows away properly, you won’t have to pick it up.

So make sure it does.
