Pretty warm & dry in these parts, saw a fair few bikes out & got reversed into by someone who clearly didn't see me 😡

Next:- your bike outside a house with excessive Christmas decorations, so get your skates on/out on yer bikes...

The first maybe,if the conditions are goldilocks, the second,no chance whatsoever.

Not so much excessive, but really impressive imo. There’s more, but that’s the best bit. Look at the detail!

That would make a semi-decent sized shed...

Well that’s not going too speedily - I suppose it’s a bit too early for spring flowers. How about a change to something more immediate: your bike with floods?😩

Next, your bike near a Nissen Hut.

There's a Nissen hut about 2 miles from my house (there's probably one closer if I could be arsed to look) but it's too cold and salty for motorcycles.

I went out today as I hadn’t ridden in a while as I had been commuting by car to the city and back so had a look on here to see what was the latest and ended up riding around for an hour and a half

And failed miserably

Best I could find was 1 of a hundred wriggly tin roofed farm shed

This was my back up plan lol

Image

Not claiming a success for either pic but gave me an excuse to get my arse out on the bike and enjoyed riding round up and down country lanes

There can't be many Nissen huts left standing - although 'hut' is a bit of a misnomer really. When I was a kid we had what was almost an estate of them with families in. I assume it had been a barracks and had been repurposed 'temporarily' as housing. We had 'prefabs' too, they were supposed to be short term too but people were in them for years and years. (I think it was asbestos in their construction that eventually resulted in their demise.

Good luck with finding a genuine one....although military museums/old air bases etc might be a good place to look.

There's the abandoned remains of a WW2 air base in overgrown woods that's just full of them over the border in Shropshire. Chances of me going over there on a bike in the very near future, however....

I did have a look at an old grass airstrip a few miles away as there used to be a couple there but all torn down now and replaced by modern versions of a wriggly tin roof building. Even some pre war estates and parts near the port where they used to be have all been replaced

Yeah, once the corrugated iron has gone they take about 5 minutes to level. They were surprisingly comfy once the roof was insulated though. There's an area in woods near Caterham where you can see where the foundations remain but not a sausage of anything else.

I wouldnt have called them comfortable from past experience ...this was Drip Bridge barracks near Stirling in the mid 80's when i was in basic. Only reason we managed to sleep was being completely knackered all the time
