The biggest bonus with powered caulking guns, either battery or air, is the smoothness of the exuding. Set the pressure right and match the speed and you can lay down beautiful beads of jollop.

Get the air pressure too high and it gets very messy very quickly.

With a battery caulking gun and a Cramer Fugi profiling set you'd be as best equipped as you could reasonably ask for.

At 200 quid for the 18V Makita gun they can keep it. If i used Silicon and the likes more i may consider the Matsui Copy for around 80 quid. Met a few people who swear by the soapy water and lollypop sticks.

I think Viagra has superceded that method.

Decided to actually get my Hi-Fi working again....Baby D knocked the speakers over and broke 'em ages ago, turns out the permanent magnet had broken off one woofer (£30 on ebay) and the plugs had just come off another. I hadn't really been that bothered about it before 'cause I binned all my CDs and just streamed most of the time. New TV does Spotify et al streaming and can HDMI audio 'backwards' to the amp while it's playing Netflix/Amazon/Disney+, so that means I've got some motivation to fix the audio now - which I have!

But while I was poking about looking for a new woofer I also spotted this Cambridge Audio centre speaker for £25....done! Gotta love me an old school looking 'wood' (MDF + Veneer :D) speaker. One of yours Ricey?

Sadly - I think I pre-date that.... (when I was there the speakers that we designed*/built** in-house were sold under the Gale brand).

I sit next to an NVH (noise vibration harshness) specialist and behind an electromagnetic simulation specialist.

I suspect Hi-Fi nerds don't even touch the sides :D

You don't have you own corner office?

Shocking!

Does 10 x 5l cans of white interior paint count as a pleasing purchase? :(

I don't even have my own desk.

It's like a submarine, only with fewer soviets and less bumming. Still some bumming of course, I'm not a total peasant.

Are they still doing this 'hot desk' malarkey? With all these folk WFH I'm surprised people don't get their own floor never mind a corner office. :D

Got an add on in MS teams for desk booking and everything now!

Mrs. D's lot are bloody geniuses. They say everyone has to be in 2 days a week - fine - but they make the whole company come in on the same 2 days, thus necessitating an office big enough for everyone which sits empty 3 days out of 5.

I'm sat, on my own, on a row of four desks... Which are back to back with another row of four desks... Which are empty.

So I guess I have eight desks.

I can see some sense in that, y'know conversations, interpersonal contact etc (I'm a Luddite, I don't think Teams etc is the same/as good), but you can see the day coming when another company or two take the other days. Heck if life is that flexible, add in Saturday and 3 companies get use of the place 2 days a week. Ooh! I've invented WeWork!

Yeah I'm all for collaboration, but I also have limited reason to collab with HR and Finance for example. We don't all need to be there at the office simultaneously.

At my company we're more than 2:1 on employees/desks. Mostly because we're all engineers and we like to optimise :D

Well, they can turn the heating off for 5 days and won't need cleaners on those days etc. I'd assume they'd be lobbying for a reduction in business rates too. It's also useful 'optically' - it reminds people they work in a company not a department or even worse for themselves, which it must start to feel like if you WFH all the time.

It's a shame that WeWork was run by an, ahem,...strange character. The idea is

Depends on who you're going to throw them at (corked, or uncorked?)

We bought about 30 of these from Sainsbury's in January, they were marked down to 10p!

They don't go off, at least there's still a few of them left
