Awesome day out on the mountain yesterday.

I knew this would be a last chance before I actually have to do some work for a couple weeks.

I caught the first lift from outside my accom, my mate Danny was heading out on skis from a nearby village and we were looking to meet up. The sun was blazing, the pistes were mint corduroy and I was feeling keen.
It took a few runs before I met up with Danny and we immediately headed for one of the steepest pistes in the 3 Valleys. I sent it, literally leaped over the roller at the top and I was gone. I know Danny is a very competent skier, but I'm pretty quick on a board. I'm fairly sure that it's on this very run that I hit my top speed of 110 Kmh a few years ago. I saw this as an opportunity to beat that record. No fresh snow for a few days and cold temperatures had ensured that it was hard packed and fast out there and I was absolutely flying. With my board chattering like a freezing Jack Nicholson I lost my bottle and decided to slow down. I looked behind me, I could not see Danny. I came to a complete stop just intime to see Danny fly over a roller, backwards (intentionally).

We flew all the way down to La Praz before getting the Bubble back to 1850. From there it was a short run to Plantery lift. I say short, because it was but we both sent a few side hits to keep the regular skiers in awe  . Up Plantery, then down to Ski Lodge with much side hits and jibbing on the way. We stopped at Le Ski Lodge in La Tania for Breakfast. I suggested we might have beer and Harriet behind the bar explained that it was compulsory. So a beer, some breakfast and a 'digestive' later, we headed back out.

That kinda set the scene for the day, we cained around, sometimes very very fast, sometimes jibbing anything, and nothing we could, we stopped again for beers and burgers at a spot I'd not been since pre covid. and just to balance life. On our way home, we stopped to aid a skier who had gone full Noggin!! Her skies were at least 30 yards further up the hill than she was, and almost 30 yards apart. We picked her up and Danny walked her down the hill while I went ahead to the Pelican bar and got the beers in.

In summary, it was the longest and one of the best days out that I've had on the mountain in far too long.

Life fucking rocks :banana-dance: :banana-dance: :banana-dance:

But my strava didn't work, so I don't know if I beat my PB!!

This, or something very much like it was on an episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em on BBC2 earlier tonight.

Frank was doing his driving test and ended up parked at the top!
Not the only thing to be filled on or around the bridge

Year end bonus!

It's not a Christmas bonus because it's a Jewish family business.

Even after the tax man has had his share, it's still better than a poke in the eye with a shitty stick.

It's a (late) Hannukkah bonus!

Finding a useful plan of the house in the 3 box files full of paper that came with it. There's about 2 and 99/100 box files worth of paper than I don't want but daren't throw away.

A visit from my sister today. We don't exactly live in each other's pocket, but it's always cool to meet up when it's not a funeral.

Just met the new neighbours opposite and they invited us to have a look round.

Wow. Ours is 5 bed on 1,500m plot.

Theirs is 7 bed on 4,000m plot. :obscene-birdiedoublered:

They've even got a tennis court :D

It really is a wonderful house. Bit did cost double the value of ours.
And they've no sea view ;)

Lovely folk and we'll all get on well.

Very trusting folk here. These new folk move in on 16th January and wanted to have a look round to measure up etc.

The estate agent happens to be our neighbour and good friend. She's in UK but left keys with us.
The new folk just gave us the keys back and left.

Party over there tonight :obscene-birdiedoublered:
