Why do they use drop handle bars ? Surely flat bars would be better ?

I've seen them several times & did the pyro at two shows where they performed. They're a bit special, every other team out there is farting about in BAe Hawks & the like, these guys are throwing F18's all over the patch. Multiple sneak passes scaring the crap out of the punters. Everyone watching the 4 in front of them, 5th one comes blasting past along the runway, then the 6th one comes from behind the crowd... :)
