Think it's a wide angle lens making it all look out of whack...probably a phone.

I had a black one, lovely sports tourer, used it for a track day at Snetterton, I was in Inters and passed a couple of R1s on the start straight with it.Gregor wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:11 pm Nice looking FZR 600 …… I’m almost tempted.

I don't think the 600s ever came in cocktail.
My mate had a maroon one, it could be this one as we're only 20 miles from Colchester, it didn't look good, but it was very cheap as no one wanted it.

It might well have been called cocktail, who knows what Yamaha called their various shell suit colour schemes of the 90s

I was really after one of these in that colour for my first 'big bike' after Uni. Couldn't find a nice enough one for the right money so ended up buying a Fazer 600 brand new.Gregor wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:11 pm Nice looking FZR 600 …… I’m almost tempted.

How times have moved on - an early 2000s race bike putting out 57.7 bhp, and an over the counter road KTM Duke 690 now puts out 73 bhp...Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:50 pm Anyone fancy a Tigcraft Supermono? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921846825

In 1984 I bought a TT prepared LC350 engine from Terry Beckett.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:40 pmHow times have moved on - an early 2000s race bike putting out 57.7 bhp, and an over the counter road KTM Duke 690 now puts out 73 bhp...Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:50 pm Anyone fancy a Tigcraft Supermono? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921846825
It was a buyer who didn't pay.
Had potential for 70 gee gees, but told me to back the timing off a bit for reliability for a season. Still 60 BHP
He built it for one TT race.
That bike was fun

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
That TigCraft uses an air cooled lump tho'
It'll race in a different class to the LC KTMs.

To be fair, it is only a 600 a/c motor in there, so always going to be a bit limited.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:40 pmHow times have moved on - an early 2000s race bike putting out 57.7 bhp, and an over the counter road KTM Duke 690 now puts out 73 bhp...Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:50 pm Anyone fancy a Tigcraft Supermono? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921846825
However the 690 spondon/yamaha i used to work on 'only' had 71hp in 96/7. That was good enough to win a couple of TTs though!
Yes, KTM are offering quite a potent package to the public though.

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
The motor in question has been bored out to 660cc so the comparison is not that far off. Agreed that it is an air-cooled motor (as KFB and Demannu point out) and would race in a different class to any KTMs. Just goes to show what consistent development can achieve. And the 690 Duke motor isn't peaky or difficult to ride, in fact it makes a brilliant town/city bike.

I would imagine the KTM handles better as well!mangocrazy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 11:44 am The motor in question has been bored out to 660cc so the comparison is not that far off. What most impresses me is the detail in that auction listing, you don't get that on Facebook marketplace.
