I'm not that keen on going faster than 90mph to be honest, I'd happily swap top speed for stupendous acceleration, brilliant suspension and light weight.
I had it confirmed from Yamaha UK that the £12,500 price is correct.

It's up on the Yamaha configurator now, the fella at the bike shop emailed to ask if I want to configure one and then put my order in.
I'm still keen, so I went on, added a few extras like the proper exhaust, tail tidy and the bottom fairing and it's up at £15,500.
I like it, but £15.5k! That's a lot of money for what I consider is a budget middle-of-the-road bike without fancy suspension or parts. To be honest I think I'd rather have another MV Agusta or the fancy pants Desert X, they're only a couple of grand or so more and will definitely feel more special.
I'm not parting with that sort of money for an XSR900, which is still a mid-range Mondeo of a motorcycle at the end of the day even with the nice retro look about it.

I'm not sure of the spec of the R1, they look like generic factory Yamaha forks as well.
Maybe I'm behind the times but as soon as I see prices start to creep above the £13-14k mark I start to expect fancy aftermarket suspension and bits.

You can do it, and I used to, but I’ve lost the willingness to go through any type of hardship or discomfort as a part of the journey. Especially if there is a better thing to do it on.
And I’ve gone off race reps.

It's all a bit mental when you consider the MT09s origins were a budget fun bike costing £7k when it came out. Yeah it's improved, yeah inflation. But 15.5k fuck that.
