Yeah just been told that, which is a bit of a blow for Mrs Weeksy as she's loves it there.
I think we need to have a sit down and chat about wtf she does instead

They must make more money on the car track days, or the corporate experience days.

imho it's the best circuit in the UK, possibly the universe.
..and that's even after a trip to Grimsby A&E.

I dont mind it, but the fact I've not been there in 10 years says a lot.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:40 pm imho it's the best circuit in the UK, possibly the universe.

and the showers are always lovely and warm. They knock the Donington and Brands Hatch showers into a cocked hat.

I can only agree with 1 & 2 as good reasons!! LOLweeksy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:38 pm1. She hates it.

I've only had one wet day there and it's my favourite track to go to despite being fucking miles away!! Mind you, it was torrential rain on the track day before a race weekend Interesting experience - not bothered to repeat it! LOL
I've been places with worse (to me) facilities - Pembrey for one! But, as long as I can make a cuppa, I'm ok - simple girl really!!!
Cadwell is always at the top of my list of TDs to do but I had really wanted to do Silverstone

It's why I LOVE Portimao - it's basically Cadwell on steroids!!KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:40 pm imho it's the best circuit in the UK, possibly the universe.

Anglesey is a great circuit, but the showers are average. Prembrey showers are very odd, you have to pull on a bathroom rope/light switch to turn them on/off.
The worst showers of them all are Castle Combe.

Re: No Bike TD's at Silverstone in 2024 then...
Silverstone was my hated circuit. Just keep the throttle pinned most of the way round. I only went coz I was getting paid.
But that's just my opinion.
I loved the up and down circuits with blind bends like Cadwell, Oulton, Brands GP and Donington.

I only did Anglesey once - does it have a kind of corkscrew? Can't remember what it was called!! DAMN that was fun! (apart from enthusiasm>skill = slightly damaged GSX600 )KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:47 pm Anglesey is a great circuit, but the showers are average. I'd go back again but that felt even further away than Cadwell!! LOL

Re: No Bike TD's at Silverstone in 2024 then...
It's a very cryptic message from them though.
They've got a lot of instructors who are now not being paid... Even if they fill the days with cars/something, it's still plenty of bike lads without any money coming in.
It's not like the can change the track or the days/plans... So it's a pretty weird message.

Most instructors are freelance and current or ex-racers.weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:15 am It's a very cryptic message from them though.

This'll be just a small proportion of their income.
Most will be OK
