Bentley Diavel

Post by ChrisW »

Ducati have announced a special edition Diavel with yet another VAG brand. “We decided to team up with Bentley because we can charge a fortune for them in some sort of British Racing Green even though the paint cost has barely changed.”

“I can’t wait to tell my colleagues that I’ve bought one”
said a customer.

Ducati also confirmed an upcoming collaboration with Volkswagen for a slightly cheaper than usual Diavel only available in VW Reflex Silver with a cloth seat.

Introducing a new way to tell everyone that you're up to your balls in debt paying over the odds for a bike because "It says Bentley on it" even though you don't have or are ever likely to actually have a Bentley

Is it like when very silly people put Bentley badges on their Chrysler 300C?

If the basic Diavel for Bentley edition isn't rare enough for you - 500 are being made at a price 'from £60,000' then there will be 50 even more exclusive 'Diavel for Bentley Mulliner' editions will be available from around £70,000 to £75,000.

But there's a catch. It looks like these 'individually personalised bikes' will be 'reserved specifically for Bentley's most dedicated customers'.

So if you want one, you better go buy a Bentley or three first :)

Smug me recons buying a Morini Scrambler was a way to buy exclusivity at a tenth of the cost of a Bentley Drivel, un-smug me wonders if I'm even more of a fool and his money...

Yeah same. Think I saw it on Visor down and had the same reaction.

Are these poor Bentley owners obliged to buy the Diavel if offered it?

At these posh media presentations, it seems compulsory to turn most of the lights off so you can't see the bugger properly.

It's not even something you'd want to put in your drawing room to look at, in any case.

I'd quite like a Bentley....but associating with this sort of toss is putting me off. It's an exercise in brand stretch/value destruction.

I mean, owning a Bentley was the sort of thing a chap that thought a Rolls was a bit naff and OTT would do. It was still a gentleman's conveyance. That horrorshow up there ^^^ is nothing of the sort.

They suit the Bentley style grille, but theres no way anyone could mistake a 300c for a Bentley.

Ironic as it's an old S Class in places.

s'built pretty much entirely on the old-old (cause it's just been replaced again) S/E/Chelsea Tractor platform innit?

AFAIK Mercedes and Chrysler stopped being buddies bloody ages ago, which shows how long in the tooth the 300C is.

Coincidentally, I saw this yesterday and has the bentley B on the front. I'm not sure what is worse, the lack of taste or the driving.

I think small-town, northern, self-styled "hard men" buy old Continental GTs for about £10k in an attempt to boss it.
