To you, maybe, but for most people it's way down the list behind the cost of living crisis, inflation, waiting lists in an impoverished NHS, energy prices and government incompetence. The only people trying to make it an issue are the Mail/Telegraph/Express and their multi-mullion pound backers. Trying to make immigration an issue is pure dog-whistle politics.
I remember people saying that about Brexit...

It's all out of exactly the same playbook.

It may have once been "down the list", but is no longer.

Most people can see that annual net immigration of ~3/4 million creates unsustainable pressure on the NHS, waiting lists and medical services, housing, schools, roads, utilities, services such as the police and court systems, and so on. In the past people have been too polite/tolerant to say so, but when their lives are negatively impacted by these issues, as they are now, times change.

Indeed not. See above.

You clearly want that to be the case, but it isn't. Fair enough - you have your agenda and you want to push it by any means possible. The list I mentioned is what people are really concerned about, although the Mail/Express/Telegraph and their acolytes are trying hard to push immigration into the public consciousness, in the same way as they did (successfully) with Brexit. It's a typically Tory hard-right obsession that is being presented as 'the will of the people' when it's nothing of the sort.

I just saw the news and his latest actions. Anyway, he doesn't want then to go to Rwanda and stay here which amounts to the same thing. He's been very vocal (tweets) in his support for migrants coming to the uk, which what i'm referring to.
You do know that the Rwanda plan is a scam don't you? It only allows for very limited numbers each year (100 or so ) and it is reciprocal deal so we have to take Rwandan refugees.
I'd always seen it as a sneaky ruse by the govt to make the UK look like a less desirable destination. If you was a migrant you wouldn't want to come here if you were likely to then get shipped out to Rwanda would you...
If only 100 or 200 people get sent to Rwanda then you have a 99% chance of it not happening so it doesn't seem much of a risk.

The government has lost control of immigration, the figures speak for themselves.

Don't be so silly, just say theres 20,000 people per year coming over and maybe 200 per year get sent to Rwanda.
Pretty long odds arent they, especially compared to the far higher risks involved in the channel crossing.

Then don't forget that this has so far cost the UK getting on for 300 million pounds.
Its a ridiculous headline grabbing ploy by an increasingly unhinged minority, one where each day theyre willing to throw away more of OUR rights and money.

Deterrent my arse.

The govt has lost control of pretty much everything, or hadn't you noticed? immigration is very small beer in the grand scheme of things.

It's good to see that you do agree that the government has indeed lost control of immigration.

In answer to the thread question ...

"BBC license fee to go up by £15. Will you keep paying it?"

... the answer is that I don't pay it now and will continue not paying.
