Re: What have you done today thread?
WFH today in the upstairs office. The decorator has his radio on downstairs listening to Magic FM, which is playing virtually non-stop Christmas songs, and compounding this misery is his tuneless whistling, broken only occasionally by a snippet of badly-sung lyrics...
Whistle....whistle....whistle...step into Christmas... whistle...whistle...for ever and ever.....whistle.
Wonder if he'd be offended if I got up and left for the office with instructions to let the dog out on the hour and lock the door when he leaves....

Did that yesterday with our decorators - they then seemed to spend most of the day out the front on cigarette breaks according to our CCTV

Re: What have you done today thread?
Less than I should have. But my arm was proper grumpy after my wobbly walk up the mountain on skis yesterday So I went for coffee, saw the physio, planned to come home and wrap up in the shoulder electric blanket and snooze.
Then some friends who just arrived back wanted to take me out for lunch for my birthday, so I went!
I came home after and have done what I'd planned!!
Oh, I did airfry some battered prawns and had them and a bit of battered fish with sweet and sour sauce for tea - something didn't agree with me. So I didn't feel like going out!! LOL
Working after lunch tomorrow, so there is a slim possibility of a ski because there are two lifts open this weekend. BUT, not going unless the weather is good - no point risking crashing out just before I have to do a GVA transfer!! AND I've got the brand new Caravelle to try

Re: What have you done today thread?
For the first time in memory, La Plagne opens for the weekend before the actual resort opens!! I fully expected to be working so made no plans. But, my boss has me starting at 13:30 - so, not quite first lifts but definitely WOW!!!
I quit after 3 runs cos the light was going and although I did buy some goggles for the first time ever, I didn't buy the low light lens because, well, I never go out if the light is bad! Need to save up and buy the low light lens in the new year!! Cos today was freaking awesome
My Ski buddies for the morning - they're still out there

Re: What have you done today thread?
Made a nutella cheesecake. We have a visit tomorrow from the neighbours, so getting prepped early.
Next will be a layered chocolate cake with a ganache topping and finished with maltesers, then some scones.
If anyones pancreas is still working properly after all this, I'll be amazed!

Discovered that sneezing while the sciatic nerves are all fuckered up is not for the faint of heart. I thought coughing was bad enough. KEErist that hurt.

I feel (have felt) your pain. Unfortunately I kinda fused something in mine so, instead of pain, I now have numbness. Which, on balance, looking on the bright side etc, is better than the pain.

Had to work in the rain to get rid of backed up jobs before Christmas. Dragged to Zombie Shoppers shop ASDA and got stung for £75 as she forgot her purse. Apparently.

Been to Brizzle to meet up with daughter. Just consumed a 10 course tasting menu, plus the flight of wines to match. Fat, full, and a little pissed.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've been sanding the bottom of my rowing boat.
It is clear that I used extremely good paint on the bottom, a couple of coats of epoxy barrier coat and then the glossy stuff. The barrier coat stuff is very tough which is why I use quite a lot of it and it's very reluctant to be removed.
When you're a mile or so offshore in a small boat it can feel really small. Take it out of the water though and it'll take up an extraordinary amount of space in your garden. Take a sander to the bloody thing and suddenly it'll be fuckin' enormous.

Cooked Sunday roast at work.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."
