Went out with my son for a short, 40 miles, bike ride. Got soaked and frozen. Wasn't the best ride for sure. Glad to be home now.

Note to self: don't believe the weather forecast.

Taken two services in my own churches! What a lovely way to begin Advent season.

Went into town centre car park. Lifts are slow, so walked up the stairs, 6 flights of quite steep stairs. Had to slow down at the top,, an old dear with a walking stick was a bit slow over the last few steps. Her companion, a bloke about my age apologised for his Mum holding us up and explained she was 99!

I hope I am doing as well when (if) I get to 99.

Did the Monday walk a day early, which meant that the café at the Sports Ground was open so started and finished there. The little uns were training when we started and there was an adult footy match on when we got back, so had a coffee and a bite to eat and watched the game for a while*. I think we were the only people in the café that didn't have a dog or two. :D No snow and didn't need waterproofs.

* It was entertaining, but not because the teams were v good. :D

Stripped and rebuilt the strimmer, it now runs properly so i treated it to an oil change.
Finished building one of a pair of bookcases.
Stripped a pressure washer to put a new flex on it, I'll swipe one off a vacuum cleaner on my next trip to the skips.
Shifted a dead outboard to a mate.

And some other uninteresting stuff too.

I can't remember the last time I had an actual lie in - so I really enjoyed it this morning! LOL Basically mostly just chilled out today. I did decide to try out the camera bag and see how well I could use the camera - left it a bit late as the sun had gone over the mountain, so it wasn't particularly photogenic :( :(

But, had a nice walk, there's enough piste I reckon to go attempt some ski touring before work tomorrow - except that I'm not working in the office tomorrow and am leaving for a transfer at about 6.45am! Soooo, Wednesday I'm off and I WILL go for a ski tour!! LOL :D :D

Now catching up on Strictly from last night - gutted that the gorgeous man is out :( :( But, it's still cool watching the dancing anyway :D

Adding to what I've done, two cats and a dog have been given their de-wormer tablets. Disgusted looks from three beasts and treats given out to mollify them and keep the tablets down. Cat nicked part of the dogs sausage as well! And I still have all my fingers!

12Hr day at work, which was pretty quiet, reconfigured our HV network and turned off a 33000V Feeder cable so the staff on site could Isolate and Earth it before perform a cut and divert to alter its route along with the "pilot" cable carrying the control and feeder protection systems. Cable was then "HV pressure" tested along with phase ID checks and then pilot cable continuity checks. Didn't get around to putting it back into service as a blown fuse in a piece of test kit prevented the staff doing testing work from completing the protection systems testing until just before I left.

Also ate a rather hot chicken kebab.

@MingtheMerciless My wife uses trains for her commute. I am always gladdened to see it is people like you who ensure the safety of the workers maintaining the systems and ensuring the safety of our rail network. Many thanks for your diligence and care, professionalism and expertise.

Bellends. Sorry, Belens ;)

Belens are a tradition here where villages create huge models of the islands famous bits. Biggest is this one in Yaiza. 260m3
The detail is stunning and we were trying to match each bit to a part of the island.

Just as we'd done there was a total blackout. We thought it was local, but the whole island was down for 10 minutes. By 'ell, it was dark
