Southern Enduro 2023 anyone up for it ?

Post by weeksy »

Just booked 26th March at Newnham Park for me and the boy.

https://southernenduro.co.uk/2023-dates-and-venues

I know a few people have shown interest and even done one :) so get it booked, bit of an adventure.

Definitely enjoyed the mashup at twisted oaks in Dec so I'm keeping an eye out to see if there's another one in spring and will definitely do that.

The south-west rounds are going to be too far I think, but any of the south east ones are doable at a push. Milland looks fun.

Will get a few more days riding at Twisted oaks and get a bit more confidence and go from there I think.

Milland is ace mate... If you think of S6 and S5 at Twisted it's more that sort of riding than it is the jumpy/park stuff. Rooty more than jumpy and trails dug/walked out in the woods. We've raced Milland a couple of times now and i'd expect we'll race it again this year.

Awesome - I've watched a couple of videos this afternoon and it looks like fun, it's a definite maybe from me. If a mashup at twisted doesn't appear in march then the april one could be an option.

Newnham park looks like it'll be fun too.

Raced in the Bontrager 24/12 at Newnham many years ago, great fun.

After an excellent weekend at Milland, i've just entered the 18th June at Tiverton. Trying to persuade a few local mates.

It's not as tech at Milland, pedally at times though, looks a decent introduction to racing.

I've gone rogue and entered FUN cat... mostly so me and the other parents can race together..

Looks like there's another mashup at Twisted Oaks on 3rd Dec.

Will try and do better this year!

No worries, should be a bit easier this year, I’m a lot more familiar with the place than I was last time!

Race day on sunday, looks like a nice damp start to the day which should be fun.

All I'm hoping for this year is to not crash badly and to finish mid-pack rather than a few places from last like I did last year, I'm definitely faster than I was, and have managed most of the features at twisted now, but we'll see. Can't decide whether to take the T130 or G170. I had an awesome day there last weekend on the 130, and an awesome day the week before on the 170. I think the 130 will be quicker...probably.

I don't think there'll be much between them mate, if i've learned anything it's that it's more about the rider than anything.

So whichever has you thinking "i prefer that bike" is likely to be the one that's best.

Lovely stuff, doesn't look like it'll be hanging around. Definitely going to be cold with a nice breeze though.
