a, I've already claimed my ill gotten gains

b, I've yet to collect my winnings

But, carbon wheels were stock. So why would anyone think they needed to check?

If I'm wrong someone will correct me,but I think carbon wheels weren't allowed on safety grounds.The Superstock BMW S1000RR or whatever it's called has carbon wheels.
FHO run carbon wheels on their Superbike's but theyr'e not allowed to race with those wheels at the NW200 so they go home.
Local rider Seeley wins races on BMW & there's a discussion about what wheels were fitted & rumour that he raced with carbon wheels in 2022.
Fiasco doesn't begin to describe things & that's without mentioning the shenanigans about the previous years Supertwin result

From a purely spectating point of view,these kind of decisions made long after the fact will come across as nitpicking and petty and they will damage the sport.
If bike racing results can be changed so long after the season has ended,then people have no real idea if what they are watching is as they see. Linfoot wins the championship,then weeks later,oh wait,he didn't. That's just crap.

We had a similar debacle at the NW200 when the rulemongers decided carbon wheels were forbidden,even though the stock bike uses them and raced them at the TT ffs. The team weren't allowed to change the wheels,because then they wouldn't be stock. End result,one of the best teams in BSB packs up and goes home. It's farcical.

If the sport becomes a rule fest,interest will wane and that's a fact.

From the other side, someone in the team wants sacking.
Before spending £20k on posh wheels, they should have fired off an email to the A.C.U. or whoever asking if they were legal.

Bending the rules is OK, but you gotta guard your arse.

Everyone knows the rules and penalties.

Nobody went and spent 20k on carbon wheels, the M is specced from factory with the carbon wheels so they came with the bike as standard.

That’s exactly it, they weren’t allowed for safety reasons and the issue is the M1000RR is from factory fitted with carbon wheels, so if they fitted the lesser wheels, either the cast or forged rims it wouldn’t then comply with the Stock rules. But they had ran the previous NW200 with carbon wheels and they had went through scrutinnering without any problems.

Talking of rules, the Auto66 ran great race meetings, but the scrutineers were insane.
And us being proddy racers got extra special Nazi treatment.
We knew which nazis to avoid and planned which queue we were in...

One day at Carnaby my back was bad so was ages in the medical van/ambulance and asked a pal to take my LC350 through scrutineering.

My pal came back sheepishly and said it had failed as it had metal tyre valve caps.

This was the twat we all hated.
So I grabbed the chief scrutineer and made him come with me.

I asked why he failed a metal valve cap.

He said " imagine if it goes into the crowd "

I said " imagine if the whole fucking bike goes in the crowd, "
