I know it's only a little scooter but the power delivery was kind of addictive, I can see myself being converted once electric motorcycles really start to take off.

My mate drives a Tesla and he said he'll never go back to an ICE car.

They don't like winter.

One of the transfer companies out here runs 3 Teslas and 3 Merc electric minibuses for transfers all winter!! Even down in the valley it's regularly below freezing - and up in resorts its often -10 or more/less (never sure if it's more cos the number is bigger or less because it's further down the minus scale!!)

But it's manageable! These guys will often do 500+kms in a day with a charge in between dropping and picking up passengers (less is quite possible, but that is probably the longest day). All through the winter. As far as I know they don't have to charge between leaving base, going to resort and on to the airport but if they do, then the customers are quite happy with it.

Of course, I could be wrong as I never drove the electric vehicles in the 2 months I worked for them! LOL But, they must have it worked out as the EVs are very popular with the customers

Well, what I'll actually do is ask him about the specifics so I can come back and say how it works for them. I'm more likely to see one of the drivers that mainly drives those. Either way, whoever I see first, I'll get some info

Worst case scenario can you get another battery for them ? Or indeed remove the battery and store indoors when not in use ?

I didn't say it was perfect, but it is manageable.

Yes, it may reduce it, but if it is still manageable for airport transfers where I live (we have much more consistent cold temps), then it's totally manageable in the uk!!

Oh yes, definitely manageable. It's when you start putting heated seats, aircon demister etc, the range will drop. Some worse than others probably.

IIRC didn't Charlie and Ewan get problems in South America on the electric bikes when it was really cold?

Can't honestly remember? But then again tech has moved on a lot since then, so possibly was a more pronounced issue then than now?

I never left my battery outside on the bike, it was London after all. I took it inside to charge both ends and never noticed a problem in the cold, it probably wasn't out there long enough to get cold.
