Re: Anyone rode/owned a....
Mate had one that he bought off RK performance. It had the kitchen sink thrown at it, carbon wheels, tweaked motor, pipe etc.
He asked me to have a go and give him my opinion.
Batshit crazy!
Anything that will lift the front wheel at 100+ without provocation needs quite a bit of respect, yes you can change the settings to calm it down, but why should you?
I much preferred the xr to be honest, still mad, but more comfortable!

Yeah full fat RR on all the Beemers I’ve had, you won’t go wrong with the R that’s for sure, not quite as good as the RR but still incredible.

A couple of people recommended one to me, albeit the xr version, but as soon as i started to look into them I found masses of complaints about how vibey they are, so i ditched the idea.

The vibrations through the bars are reduced by fitting weighted bar ends, it’s been the same for all years of S1000’s, the Gen 4 was no different. Apparently the latest revised K67 is better but I’ve heard a few say it still vibrates.
It’s more noticeable at slower speeds, if you keep it pinned you don’t notice it at all.

Re: Anyone rode/owned a....
Yup, had a new S1000R in 2016. Great to ride on road, on track it was a wallowy mess with slicks on. My bro also had a 2017, all of them are noisy engines. My bro did take his to BMW and ask if that was normal, he was told yeah....it lunched it's crank at 12k miles and this isn't unheard of.
He now has a Suzuki GSX-S1000, it's very similar has similar power and still has nice electronics. The QS and blipper are lovely. It's also a lot cheaper than the BMW and having ridden it I see no reason to buy the BMW even if it was the same price and reliable
I bought mine after my S1000XR which was a right giggle on track thinking the R would be better, it wasn't.

The ESA on my GS doesn't go full height on when turned off, I'd have thought the XR used a similar system?

No mine doesn't, just stays put. If I put in 2 riders or luggage, whatever it is, I'm on tiptoes.

Don't remember any of my ESA bikes going up in the air on switch off either.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 7:26 pmThe ESA on my GS doesn't go full height on when turned off, I'd have thought the XR used a similar system?
