Re: Valencia MotoGP
He was properly sideways at times, looked like he was really enjoying himself. He's looked like the closest to the next MM, hope he delivers.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
MM93 just over a tenth off his qualifying time.
I'd love to see the bookie's odds.
The last 4 years have had worthy champions. But always one rider missing.
Next year will have a true champion IYSWIM.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Remember MM had quite an off on Sunday, must still be pretty bashed up, which makes it even more impressive.
I still don't like him tho'

Re: Valencia MotoGP
I didn't like him in Moto3 and Moto2 as he was favoured and beating the Brits.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 6:32 pm Remember MM had quite an off on Sunday, must still be pretty bashed up, which makes it even more impressive.

But after his big crashes, he is mellowing and growing up.
He's got the winning mentality

Re: Valencia MotoGP
I expected a better showing from Morbidelli on his new Ducati, but there he was, still behind Fabio.
I couldn't help thinking Zarco's crash will be the shape of things to come in 24.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Just saw a clip of him coming into the garage after the first run and as soon as he took of his helmet clearly said "Wow" to the engineers followed by a huge grin

Can you imagine the conversations in the Honda offices this morning
"I thought you said the bike was great and Marquez was the problem"
"errrrrrmmmm "

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Which leads to the question - What on earth are Honda going to do now?
Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Whatever it is, it won't happen overnight. I foresee a period of wandering around in the wilderness for Honda and Yamaha, until such time as they start poaching European talent, big style.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Alberto Puig is under no illusions. His reply when asked if he was surprised at MM being fast on the Ducati,he replied in his usual sarcastic manner,"was anyone surprised"?

Re: Valencia MotoGP
I wouldn't be surprised if Alberto Puig was shown the exit door soon. Like all of the top Honda brass he's tainted goods and MM's exit and speed on the Ducati has just reinforced that message. Honda have gone from all-conquering to dinosaurs in less than 5 years.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
I thought the rumour was Davide Brivio was heading to Honda.
Would be the smart move, he progressed Suzuki from nowhere to a championship with a good match of rider and bike development.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Last I heard was he was intending to see out his contract at Alpine. But things can change very quickly in motorsport. He would be the ideal candidate for Honda, though.

Re: Valencia MotoGP
Valencia was as well organised for spectators as it has been the last two years.
No queueing to get into the car parks on Saturday or Sunday, and we were out of the circuit and onto the A3 motorway within 5 minutes of getting into the car on both days. No queuing getting the stands either, plenty of gates and staff saw to that. €15 for a programme though, and €10 for a pint of beer
Unfortunately, the usual party antics in Cheste on Saturday night were very subdued. For some reason, most of the streets were closed to bikes, and it has lost all the excitement and atmosphere. I won't be spending Saturday night yhere next year....
