That's difference between an impartial 'news' organisation and, erm, the other that call themselves 'news' and simply play to a very base base.
It's unreasonable to expect individuals to be completely apolitical but perfectly reasonable that they follow their employer's guidelines and rules that they sign up to. If they don't, sack 'em.

That applies to many of our laws, too. It's also likely that in the 1975 referendum about the EEC, a number of people who voted to remain are also corpses. According to those who work out these things, statistics showed from the people who voted, a higher percentage of old people voted to remain than young people did. I wonder if the young 'leavers' in 1975 became the old 'leavers'. in 2016.

Unless you've got a Lineker exemption...
Lineker doesn't work for BBC News, isn't a reporter/journalist and isn't on the BBC payroll AFAIK. He gets paid too much as a contractor though.
(People probably froth at the mouth about what some of the panel of HIGNIFY say on the show and in their 'real lives' too - but it's a bought in programme from Hat Trick Productions and they aren't on the payroll either).
