I think if they get in again we will be close to a civil war, literally the rich against the poor and i can tell you for fact the poor wont stand up for any more oppression whilst they actively and quite publically set out laws that only benefit their rich mates.
Also expect loads more knife crime, more crime generally and the continuation of anger and disrespect throughout our society.
Oppression would be ordering the police to stalk the streets, arresting random people for no good reason and otherwise preventing the general public from going about their daily lives. That's not happening, if anything the police are being de-funded and abandoned to their own fate, just like the rest of us.
The Conservatives WANT you to go about your daily life, they want you in a nice little bubble of ignorance so they can get on with making money without any interference from you. And that's what is happening, because we all have jobs and social lives that have nothing to do with politics.
We do everything for them to have everything and for us to have nothing even though we are the ones doing all the work?

@PaddyJManning
SHUT UP!
Just shut up Drew Harris, Helen McEntee, Michéal Martin, any member of the Cabinet, Paul Murphy, all of the media hive mind, every single progressive lefty, every compassionazi, anybody about to use the phrase "Far Right". It's not just that you morons have reduced the phrase to meaninglessness by your constant, imbecilic repetition, but it's now a goad, a spur, an insult that cleaves this country even further as you dismiss anger, fear and worry. It's making things worse.
Realise one thing. The tragic savagery that happened on Parnell St today is your fault. You built this. When you were warned that Asylum was being abused, you parroted "Far Right" like Orwell's sheep. When you were warned that Ireland had more Algerian asylum seekers than any other country, even than France that ruled the place, you parroted that phrase. You refused to deal with the ridiculous numbers arriving without documents, refused to speed up the asylum system & then refused to deport those who didn't qualify for asylum. When workers couldnt buy houses because you made them too scarce & too expensive & 10,000 of our own people had no home at all, you committed to providing houses for people not legally entitled to be here & who had, like Josef Puska, no intention of ever working. When ordinary decent hard-working taxpayers were irked by this insane policy once more, you parroted the phrase "Far Right".
You pretended culture didn't matter as you flooded working class areas with single men from a culture that regards women in a Western culture as blow-up sex dolls made of meat.
You used that stupid phrase as a prophylactic, protecting you from thinking, from listening, from realising the real cost of a set of policies as stupid & destructive as they were lawless.
Stop pretending that there's some vast conspiracy instead of merely anger at your silly & damaging policies. Now that anger is fierce, terrible & dangerous. You broke every rule of ordinary politics & your incompetence has led us to a terrible place, that place where the institutions of state, of law, of information are no longer trusted by a sizeable portion of the population. You alienated people who see their country been run for the benefit of strangers & the gombeen class that can milk the refugee housing gravy train. Do you even realise where we are or how much damage you fools have done to the ties that should bind a country?
We are entitled to have our government, the government for which we pay, put our interests first. Instead you've funded an ugly hive of Non Governmental Organisations, consulted these Government Assisted Non Governmental Organisation's & put the interests of these GANGOs & of the Josef Puskas of the world at the heart of the business of the State.
It's not much to ask that we should have a country, our parents left us one. It's not wrong to expect that, however, welcoming our country might be, that it would not offer strangers more than it offered natives in largesse. You declared such thoughts to be those of shaved head, jackbooted, 88 tattooed savages.
Stop condescending, stop lying, stop ignoring. Commit to putting the country's people first, their needs, their safety & never, ever use the phrase "Far Right" again. That way, maybe you can avert catastrophe.

There were 2 occurrences that i know of. One where the group of people was leaving the embankment meet up, which to be fair was organised (I think) by Tommy Robinson, and they were referred to as far right protesters,but it was clear there were veterans within that group. The other one was where Plod had kettled a large group to stop them from reaching the cenotaph and there were clearly paras within the group. Of course, they could have been far right paras and veterans, but thats very inflammatory language to use about them.

So they didn't really 'brand everyone walking to the cenotaph, including veterans' as far right at all did they? Nope. Just a group with Tommy Robinson in and a bunch that the the police felt it was best to keep controlled.Taipan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 11:43 amThere were 2 occurrences that i know of. It's a bit like the outrage against the BBC when they consistently stated that 'Hamas has been declared to be a terrorist organisation by...etc'. It's absolutely factual. That's what news is supposed to be. Particularly since they have reporters/correspondents 'on the ground' as it were, so they have a duty of care to ensure these people aren't seen as members of a government controlled propagandist organisation. That's difference between an impartial 'news' organisation and, erm, the other that call themselves 'news' and simply play to a very base base.
