ULEZ compliance

Post by Dickyboy »

Turns out my 2018 Morini 1200 is not ULEZ compliant, thought it was just a case of having put a personal plate (from a 1998 bike) on it but nope, the NOX levels are 0.165g/km & euro 3 limit is 0.15g/km Unbelievable that a bike registered in 2018 could not be compliant with euro 3 what 11yrs after the regulation came in.

Think I'll have to go down the getting it tested route & see where it's at ๐Ÿ˜•

That's strange. I thought everything from 2008 was!? Check with Morini as TFL said my old Mercedes wasn't but Mercedes gave me a certificate of conformity for free and I got it changed.

I've just got my 2002 BMW R1100S reclassified as ULEZ exempt despite being prehistoric Euro!

Simply got a letter from BMW stating the NOx level, submitted to TfL stating this is below Euro3 level, and a few days later received a letter stating bike is now exempt.
Don't waste money getting it tested when a few emails and you could do it yourself.

I've previously had an older GS reclassified by submitting a data sheet from BMW, so I'm familiar with the system.

I'd done the plate checker on line & it said non compliant, so I checked with TFL & they said DVLA updates are only every 3 months & if I email in my logbook they would update their system but before doing that I checked the figures ๐Ÿ˜•

I thought the bike was euro 4 compliant & Morini had stopped production because they couldn't get euro 5, will have to do some checking & see what I can come up with on that front.

Found an "EC certificate of conformity" for it saying "46.1 Euro level:EUR3" but still stating the high nox level which means it shouldn't pass euro 3.

Think I might submit that with the logbook & see what TFL say before I go down the testing route. Failing that I'll have to get a sensible bike for work but was trying to just have one bike ๐Ÿค”

Check the log book - it may state the levels there.

Well that's a result, after patiently waiting 3 months (that's how often DVLA update TFL records), whoever updated the system didn't check the actual stated NOx levels on the paperwork & the Morini is now magically recorded as ULEZ compliant ๐Ÿ˜

At least they do check now. When they started they just worked on the first registration date. Cant remember the date but my old VFR was registered just before, and despite being compliant, they refused to accept anything except a Certificate from the manufacturer. Fortunately Honda delivered free of charge.
