You're quite bright, I expect you'll work it out.
Ha ha, typical cop-out.
Says the chap who expected me to read umpty squillion pages of the Hamas covenant to back up a point he hadn't even articulated.
The Hamas Covenant is only about 750 words, a very small fraction of a squillion.

Should take about 10 minutes to read all of it - a small price to pay to understand one of the key roots of the Israel/Hamas/Hezbollah/et al. war.

I think I already understand that the protagonists have been knocking lumps off each other for millenia and are unlikely to stop any time soon.

What’s that got to do with what’s in today’s news?

Israeli guy on the news (today’s news!) says they’ve killed thousands of Hamas fighters. That’s got to be good eh!

If my maths are right (far from certain) the most you can benefit by due to this NI change is £754pa.

Logic being, at the moment it's charged at 12% on everything between £12751 and £50271, then 2% after that. So if your taxable income is above £50271 you'd pay a total of £4524pa in NI (12% of £50271 - £12751) at the higher rate, in future you'll pay £3770. A saving of £754pa, or about sixty quid a month. All your earnings above the ~50k are unchanged.

I mean, better than a kick in the bollox, I'll take that £60 . Not sure it's gonna change my life drastically. Assuming my numbers are correct, as above

8.5% for some of us.

Doesn’t mean I don’t want what they get as well!

Paid for from increased tax take. (Freezing income tax levels and removing freeze on fuel duty and putting it on an inflation escalator). The govt. giveth, the govt. taketh away.

That's the problem, a bloody expensive and inefficient way to give you (some of) your own money back!

Small Government, low tax, take responsibility for yourself, is IMO the way to go.

Pensions up by ~£50/month will help fund all those operations that have to get done privately. Spire etc will be pleased.

The trouble is that most of the UK population would view that with horror. They won't even stop shoving cream cakes and Greggs down their necks, let alone any sort if fiscal responsibility
