zzr14 has gone up from £136 FC to £150 Fc and 10 plus years no claims seems moving to the Dales comes with an added premium :(

Car insurance is in. Last year £261, renewal £515 :angry-cussingblack: Done a quick comparison and can get £404 but with Prima Insurance who I've never heard of so not sure about them, they have a 5 star defaqto rating but no idea if that means anything. Next cheapest is £440 so still a big hike on a 7 year old Mazda

My insurance is due in a few weeks, got the reminder & it's gone up from £182 to £226.I've done some shopping around & Bennetts came up with £155.
This is for a 675R Street Triple & SV650,garaged,no points & max no claims,no commuting.
I can't remember the last time I managed to get a reduction on a renewal.

I think swapping about works best, loyalty is bad. 👍

I agree, but in the past few years even swapping around was just damage limitation. :

My Bennetts renewal end of last year came in £20 lower than the previous year, but - there was a new clause about compulsory "warranted secondary security". Might be worth double checking if that's likely to cause you any problems.

I managed to get it for £390 in the end by staying with Tesco but threatening to leave to Hastings who were just over £400. But I had to up my voluntary excess to get that and it was still £130 more than I paid last year and that with search 2 lots of comparison sites :angry-cussingblack:

I've had a comparison set of quotes in for the bike early from a search I did the other year, I haven't had my renewal yet, they are about £50 more than I paid last year. I think I got £150 last year on the GSXS, cheapest from that initial email is £200  Hopefully I'll be able to get it cheaper once the renewal is in and I do a proper look.

So that was much more of a faff than it needed to be.

Renewal came in from Bennetts at £14 more than last year. Quick look around and they were cheapest, so as the letter said I was on an auto-renew there was nothing for me to do and I'd be renewed on the 22nd Feb.

23rd of Feb and no charge to my card and logging onto my account shows it's inactive :angry-cussingblack: Call them and the lady checks and says I'm on auto renew but the policy hasn't renewed, she's not sure why. Say's I'll need to get a new quote and she goes to speak to her manager, after which he gives me a new policy for £20 less due to the hassle.

Later that day I get a 'Thanks for renewing' email at the same time as my new policy docs. I check my CC and there are 2 pending transactions. So I wait to see if one drops off and this morning both get taken off my card.

Call Bennetts again and the bloke confirms I now have 2 policies :angry-cussingblack: Seems my auto renew for the 22nd hadn't worked...until later in the day of the 23rd :wtf: By which time I'd been given a new policy by them. Guy said he'd never seen it before and there were no indications as to why the renewal didn't work and it certainly shouldn't not work and then worked a day later.

Anyway all sorted now but there was me thinking that for the first time ever I'll just roll with an auto renew!!!
