Tbh, I thought BJ and Co did alright when covid kicked off. We were all worried, folk dieing outside hospitals around the world, we wanted our jabs ASAP and I think we did.

Those tv presentations with BJ, Hancock and whoever were hilarious, trying to explain to a live tv audience something they knew fcukall about. Van dam and the lady were good though.

I also think living in your own little bubble is best these days, looking outside it, isn't very nice.

Agree with you. Sunetra Gupta, Carl Hennegan, Karol Sikora, Anderson Tegnell and others were right. The presentations had glowing errors in them but unfortunately very few people understand science/statistics so trust politicians who also don't understand!

IMO the UK has been busy overpaying itself for years, and the chickens will be home to roost very soon. We are spending far above our means on stuff like education, the NHS, benefits, pensions, etc. All very worthy causes, but the bottom line is the country cannot afford it - our economy is not generating enough money, and Governments have been borrowing to fill the gap. For the last 10 years interest rates have been very low, and they have been digging a nice deep pit, now interest rates are going back to normal and that pit looks like a scary place to be.

Who do you choose to get out of the pit?
Tories? They dug the last 13 years of the pit.
Labour? They promise to dig a better pit.
Liberals? They love pits.
Greens? As long as it's a green pit it is OK.

Interesting stats on this poll, shows Labour to have a twentysomething advantage over the Conservatives which is about where current nationwide polling shows as well.

I'm not sure I trust the polls, they frequently seem to tell a different story leading up to the actual post-vote results.

I doubt it'll end up the predicted landslide in favour of Labour. A lot of people dislike SKS and I don't know anyone that likes Rayner. Plus they've been a useless opposition as Starmer is weak and very mealy mouthed. That said, if Labour don't win this time around, then I don't know what else they can do, well apart from a drastic reshuffle. But then I often wonder WTF did they put SKS in? I think the only way the Tories can win, is to actually stop the boats. I believe this is so much more of an issue and vote catcher than a lot of people realise.

I don't really want to vote for the Tories, mainly because I'm so embarrassed that the UK is feeding people out of foodbanks, but I couldn't vote for the virtue signalling two either. As I said previously, i'll probably protest vote to reform uk.

I have.

30 years ago the Conservatives weren't (quite) the bottom feeding scum that they are now, and,living in Henley on Thames, it was quite fun to safely vote for Boris the Buffoon because it was the safest seat in the country for the Conservatives. (yes I feel that shame even now).

Now, I wouldn't vote Conservative if you paid me a 100million quid.

I'll be voting for whichever party locally has a chance to oust the current Conservative incumbent: because that's all I can do. I can't vote for the Party leader, so it's little difference who it actually is - my only choice is who I choose to represent my local interests in the House.

I've voted in every General Election I've been allowed to vote in...but honestly, I can't remember who I voted for in any of them!

My current seat is pretty safely Tory, I would have to vote Labour for my vote to actually stand a chance of ousting them. Genuinely don't know what I will vote.

I knew a lot of people that jumped ship from Tories to Labour for Tony Blair! Most have jumped back again though and regret backing Blair too. I always backed the Torie as I used to believe in trickle down economics, but the trickle has long since dried up and now the distribution of wealth is concerning.

I'd like to jump ship to Labour really, but they are so ranty I lose sight of any points most of the Labour MPs try to make. Politics, like most things today, is full of anger, and I really struggle to engage with irrational shouty types. If politicians carried on like Portillo and Johnson used to on This Week, I think they'd reach bigger audiences and have much more chance of canvassing a vote. I stopped watching QT as it became like playground squabbles rather than reasoned debate...

I did, and regretted it.
