Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
I was contemplating doing just that.
Wondering about getting a traillie so I thought I'd do the Yamaha Off- Road experience again down in Sussex and try out the WRs and TT-Rs. I liked the WRs but haven't tried the TT-Rs.
Only they don't do it in Sussex any more so it means a trip to Llanidloes, which complicates things a tad but not drastically.

Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
I will probably continue to ride in most weather. If I can, I'll ride in February - quite often the roads are dry, weather is sunny and the pistes are full, so I love to ride in Feb!!
Right now I'd love to go out riding but we've had half a metre of snow recently and whilst the roads have been cleared, there's still snow on them!!

When I did lots of MTBing I'd get pissed off with the bike getting properly covered in mud & grit ruining the pads & the chain so I'd go out on the road bike instead.I would look forward to when the mud froze & get back out there

Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
Went out on mine today, bit chilly but nice bright day. Thankfully I've got a Keis heated vest which was on full all day along with my Oxford heated grips. Anyway... A roads remarkably grippy and dry for the most part, B roads were horrendous! It's definitely not the time of year for gung ho attitudes, that's for sure... Suspect I'll give the GSXS a thorough clean tomorrow and take the road tax off it until Feb/March, just use the KTM if I feel like going out through winter...

That reminds me, somewhere in the loft-of-not-quite-so-much-plenty-over-the-garage I have a Classic Additions bike cover from when I used to park them in the car port. It's big enough for a large bike with luggage. If I ever get up there I'll dig it out and offer it to a worthy cause It's quite swish, soft lined, thick, tough plastic iirc, under-belly strap etc.

Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
It's what I've done till now, in fact what was done till this lunchtime with the top box on a draw. But the top box cover was only a couple of quid extra over the normal and means I don't have to put the top box anywhere else. Seemed a sensible idea. Sort of.

Come the Spring you could maybe keep the rear bag on.

Hey. @Supermofo ...did you ever try the GT or GT+ ?
Seems they have all my favourite toy's, the magic 150bhp and sporty and comfy.

Be a WAY better road bike than a Panigale for you...
Mechanically the GT isn't much different to the older bikes, just addition of a up/down quickshifter and more TC adjustability... Loving my 20 plate GSXS1000F which cost me bugger all relatively speaking! Awesome engine notwithstanding, it's a great chassis too, only let down slightly by a basic rear shock and front brakes slightly lacking bite, but both are relatively easy fixes.

Ye..was looking at those first , but no up n down. Looks nice though. Stopped making them now I believe to concentrate on GT, I think.

Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
I wanted an up/down QS, but wasn't gonna pay £5k for the privilege. To be honest, it's such a slick gearbox anyway, I don't miss it like I thought I might, and definitely would on many other bikes. Can get one of 2 or 3 QS options retrofitted (up only, which is fine by me) for between £250 and £400, but it does clutchless upshifts better than any other bike that I've owned (without a QS) anyway...Dodgy69 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:49 pmmboy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:41 pmBe a WAY better road bike than a Panigale for you...

F was discontinued end of 2020, some got registered on 21 plates but they're 20 bikes like mine is. They are a lot of bike for the money!
