It would be pretty damn obvious that the date stamp was wrong - my camera resets to the manufacturer's date every time I take the battery out, so I never bother to reset it.

And it would be a very remote road in the UK where the police couldn't find some independent video evidence from CCTV or other dashcams, catching you passing, to cross-reference with your own footage.

If the police wanted to interrogate my bikes on board data, I think "ah but it's Italian" should cover me well enough.

In July 2023, just 4% of submissions to the West Midlands Police dashcam portal resulted in positive action. Last month, 734 submissions were made with 81% resulting in a positive outcome, including court summons, fixed penalty notices, driver education and warning letters.

I received a NIP in 2018 for driving without due care and attention. All it said about the offence was it was between J8 and J7 of the M11. There were no cameras on that 10 mile section, so think it must have been dashcam footage submitted to the police.

If I pleaded not guilty, they would have given me photographic evidence, but not earlier than three weeks before a court date.

So I took the option of a course rather than 3 points or a court hearing.

Never knew what I had done, but as I was on a bike, I presume it was either my filtering that someone objected to, or my using the empty inside lane whilst they were queuing in the middle one.

……or my using the empty inside lane whilst they were queuing in the middle one.
That’s perfectly legal, as long as it’s a ”queue” and not just an occasional car.

True, but I'll never know what I actually did that got me that NIP
