Re: XSR900GP
Only a couple of hundred or so increase for the MT09s which doesn't seem too bad but the GP seems pricey for a fairing clip-ons and a cowl.
MCN predicted it would be £11.5k back in Oct.

And to finish the looks off you'll need the belly pan/lower fairing at the bargain price of £623 + VAT.
And those bar end mirrors really annoy me.

Re: XSR900GP
I remember when the MT09 came out at a bargain under £7k. Which fair enough is £9k now adjusted for inflation, and it had some extra leccy bits since. But £12,500 is taking the piss. And that's before you take into account wage inflation which is miles off inflation over that time period.

Re: XSR900GP
Imagine if they put on a decent small fairing on the MT09 so it wouldn't be useless past 90 ?
And it will keep rain and wind off ?
Just an idea

Only if you're a shandy drinker from Bradford with a neck like a pencil
The real men can handle the breeze riding at 100mph+ without a fairing, fairings are for faeries

I was comparing the vast difference in spec for same price.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:44 pmIt's a different bike though mate, I'm way past riding around on actual race replicas on the road, the XSR is obviously a nod to race reps of the past, it sort of looks like an endurance racer style but it's very definitely more road orientated than track.Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:28 pm Same price

I sat on the XSR900 at the NEC show and I reckon it's about on the limit of riding position that I could stand these days, but that R1 would kill me in twenty minutes.

A sportsbike with comfort mods gets the best bang for your buck, but it's not so easy to do that to a dedicated sportsbike without making it look like a repaired crashed bike.Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:45 pmI was comparing the vast difference in spec for same price.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:44 pmIt's a different bike though mate, I'm way past riding around on actual race replicas on the road, the XSR is obviously a nod to race reps of the past, it sort of looks like an endurance racer style but it's very definitely more road orientated than track.Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:28 pm Same price

I've toured France many times 2 up on GSXR1000s. And rode it to Portimao in Autumn.Skub wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:55 pmA sportsbike with comfort mods gets the best bang for your buck, but it's not so easy to do that to a dedicated sportsbike without making it look like a repaired crashed bike.Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:45 pmI was comparing the vast difference in spec for same price.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:44 pm

My touring pals all have V4 Panigales now.
Not all sports bikes are crap on the road.

Re: XSR900GP
It's all a bit mental when you consider the MT09s origins were a budget fun bike costing £7k when it came out. Yeah it's improved, yeah inflation. But 15.5k fuck that.

Re: XSR900GP
I'd like a half comfy sport's bike with QS and blip. Not been invented yet.
Yep...15k is far too much and having to buy half the bodywork is a piss take. Its a 10k bike, no more. Imo.
